Julie sat nervously waiting for her date to arrive. She played with her long dark hair, checking her makeup, adjusting the straps on her green party frock. She hadn’t been on a date for months.
Her sister peeked out through the curtains, scanning the street.
“Here he comes,” she whispered excitedly. “And he’s brought you some flowers.”
“Oh bloody hell,” Julie exclaimed. “Now I’m going to have to spend the evening lying on my back with my legs open.”
Her sister stared at her in confusion.
“Why?” she asked. “Haven’t we got a vase?”
