"Dawn is coming ..."

The moon is full. Black clouds gather above as the cold winds blow outside. A chill runs through my skin.

A warm hand caresses my back. Gathering me in his arms, holding me tight, he presses his lips for a kiss on the top of my head. His black wings enfold me.

"The dawn is coming. I have to leave soon," he says with regret.

Trying my best not to break down and cry, I wrap my arms around his waist.

"Will you come back?"

The full moon is their witness.

He slowly shakes his head.

"Not this time."
