A slow burn, soft embers;
The beginnings of this flame
So softly fanned by both.
Carefully, and so tenderly.
Your fingertips leave traces,
Pathways invoking such heat.
But we know better than to rush
This palpable warmth between us.
Just how can we know the pace to set?
Or when the right time is?
Even with all these questions, I know.
You can never rush the build of this inferno.
Skin feverishly exposed, after midnight confessions.
The blazing heat between us, so barely contained.
Threatening to devour us both in this moment.
But we are both masters of the burn.
We know the right time, to match each other’s pace.
My hands trail over your bare skin; shivers through spines.
Our senses heightened to their peak, hearts pumping pure fire.
This warmth is stacking upon itself now, love.
Studying every centimeter of your being,
Remembering your taste and scent, burned into my brain.
Your moans are music to my ears, and drive me so much further.
Our body temperatures rising, with this bonfire.
All of this heat and longing bringing out the animal within;
The animal that has no sense of time or pacing.
One of us impaled, while the other pins wrists down to the bed.
Whispering encouragement, all of our senses ablaze with each other.
How completely we are consumed in this fire; our skin melding together.
This feels so natural, so perfect; how can we let it end?
Our throbbing pace cannot be postponed now.
Our impending explosion, the strongest we’ve ever built to.
Our voices tearing from our throats, worshipping each other.
Screaming names in the darkness, the volcano’s lava flowing within us.
Burning flames dancing in each other’s eyes, as we slowly relax.
Only we could withstand this heat together; no one else could understand.
Coming down in each other’s arms, so tenderly held.
We both want this to last forever; no words need to be said.
In our souls, we both know this connection runs deeply.
Our fingerprints pressed firmly, and left on each other’s heart.
This darkness, enveloping both of us now.
Gentle rain outside of the window, cooling us from the heat.
But we both know, in our own silent way;
The soft embers between us will quickly be set ablaze again.
