I remember the scent of the flowers in the wind,
The rustle of lush leaves in the soft air.
The high-pitched giggles of children playing just out of sight.
The feel of your hand in mine, warm and sticky in the summer heat.
The buzz of bumble bees as they flitted through the lavender.
The soft tickle of your hair on my neck as you placed your head on my shoulder.
The clouds drifted like bubbles on a giant bath.
The breeze barely moved our hair.
A single endless moment, that stretched out before us like a carpet.
Everything barely breathed, lest it disturbed the perfect silence of that golden second.
For a moment there wasn't two people sitting side by side in each other’s arms in the garden,
There was one heart that beat in two chests.
In perfect unison with the world around it.
Every beat a silent declaration.
I belong to you and you to me.
Your watch stopped ticking; the world stood still.
It could have been for a minute or a thousand years.
What is time on a summer’s morning, when I'm sitting here with you.
