It's sunset and the sky is red,
By sunrise I'll be found as dead.
I'm waiting as the tide rolls in,
Regretting all that might have been.

Not caring if I see the light
From all the stars or moon tonight.

With shivers I am supine here,
The coldness tells me death is near
The waters surge about me now,

Recalling days that came to pass,
And simple nights upon the grass
While holding close her beating breast

A bond was formed while I admired

Within my bones the life seeps out

Why must I pay a horrid price

But all aglow upon the sea
A vessel floats and passes me.

I cough up spume, my lungs are clean.
My limbs are limp, but I shall live
With all my love still left to give.

A faithless lover I'll forget
And honesty, I'll find it yet.
A gift is life, know peace, grow old,
