She whispered her name
Just the third time we met
Her name in my memory
So firmly was set
So why does my mind
Leave me chasing my tail
When searching and searching
Comes to no avail.
A decade ago,
On our own sceptred isle
With a group of friends
We drove a few mile
The roof was down
I was driving my car
The weather was glorious
Stopping, as we found a bar
At less than half my age
She did shimmer and glide
Oh, my heart did pound
And my eyes opened wide
Standing at the bar,
My unnamed beauty
A loving caress
My utmost duty
My hands they did rest
on her hips so sublime
In holding her close
I had plenty of time
With a tilt of her head
And a swish of her hair
Her neck oh so succulent
Her shoulder so bare
I leaned down to kiss
And with greatest of care
From her ear to her shoulder
Lips caressed her there
It was light, it was tender
Yet down in that place
An explosion was felt
That rocked her space
The explosion
Did rock her mind that day
And everything changed
As her world gave way
She leaked, if not poured
She was totally gone
Her knickers and dress
Soaked as one
She ran for the toilet
Her shame in her trail
As a nightmare ensured
Now beyond the pail
It was more than an hour
When she finally emerged
Her silence golden
Her fears, not submerged
The road trip of friends
Parted company that day
In silence and fear
Of just what to say
