You walk through meadows, below enchanted skies,
Nature’s ephemeral beauty, so little time;
Each bloom a sweet receptacle for the butterflies,
So your lips impart - their nectar onto mine.
Summer breeze, relaxing, the faintest warm caress,
Smiling florescence, its pollen soon released;
Carried yonder field, winter’s stagnation redressed,
The psyche, a fleeting, colourful caprice.
Shimmering wings float twixt lissom petals, so white,
Her colours a myriad of iridescence;
She settles, her wings closing, in preparing for night,
Tomorrow though, unlike our love - evanescent.
I sit and ponder, one of nature’s little treasures,
The miracle of life, change and rebirth,
You know my love for you, is without measure,
Rejoicing in our sultry days of mirth
Dryad, like a free spirit, enchanting woodland glade,
Summer’s last blossom soon begins to wane,
A contrast to our hearts, our passion so inflamed
My feelings, my darling then and now, will always be the same
