The other day I heard,
What once was "our" song,
As it played on the radio.
This time though, it was different,
The sadness and pain were gone,
I didn't immediately think of you.
Halfway through the song,
The memories came,
And I paused for a minute.
To remember the way things were,
The chats, the teasing, the fun we had,
And a smile tickled my lips.
As the last note played,
And the music faded away,
I realized that, in a way, it's still "our" song.
After all that's happened,
The wounds have finally healed,
And still You Make Me Smile.
What once was "our" song,
As it played on the radio.
This time though, it was different,
The sadness and pain were gone,
I didn't immediately think of you.
Halfway through the song,
The memories came,
And I paused for a minute.
To remember the way things were,
The chats, the teasing, the fun we had,
And a smile tickled my lips.
As the last note played,
And the music faded away,
I realized that, in a way, it's still "our" song.
After all that's happened,
The wounds have finally healed,
And still You Make Me Smile.
