Almost a year ago we met,
good friends we became,
conversations we exchanged,
admiring you in the distance.

Pleasantries between us
became our norm
Complimenting each other
but never more than that.

In a place of words,
statuses and appearances
are "Taken" just like you,
so I remained silent, until now.

A chat window appeared,
our cordialities were exchanged,
Until the words I longed to read
suddenly materialized upon my screen.

Frozen
is this happening?
Silent in the dark,
My heart palpitated.

How after all this time,
this is happening.
A prior conversation
with a friend came to mind.

The right person has not come along
this is what my friend said,
his words resonating in my mind
and now they made sense.

In darkness they came
our confessions on the screen.
to sleep I went in a daze
but the words felt just right

This will take time,
but we know
I belong to you,
and you belong to me.

Beautiful my sweet friend
Thank you for sharing this straightforward, heartwarming 'exception' which all the 'rules' long for. :)
Beautifully written .. so much emotion
Loving words beautifully crafted. Simmi is now is now the blending of two lovely people - long may it last. SIM -MI. (Simplicity & Milik).
That touched a nerve. Thank you, it was beautiful.
A beautifully crafted poem written by the two on you. I enjoyed this. I loved how warm and passionate it was. Very poignant and lovely. A five to the both of you. Splendid....xo
This is a very nice collaboration. Sweet, touching and romantic, just like, I'm sure, the two of you.
Thank you Simmie and Arlene for sharing this amazing and beautiful heartfelt poem with us! I agree with those comments before me ... Congratulations Simmie & Milik!! How sweet it is to watch a friendship become even more as you grow together and belong to each other ... So happy for you Simmie & Milik???
A very sweet and very beautiful poem - you both should be very proud! I love it when a relationship, whether just a friendship, or something much deeper, works out! Much happiness to you both!
It does make for a good read...you can almost feel the heat of the blush to her cheek, as she reads the text on the screen.
Simply lovely some people are just meant to be to together.
I can feel your heart in the words
A lovely story, delicately written and made even lovelier by the fact that it is true! Congratulations and best wishes to everyone concerned - and that includes you too Chica!
Sometimes our best friends are right in front of you, and it takes a while to see them LOL Nicely done my dear friend.
Nicely written.
Very beautiful. Gotta love a happy ending
S.
Thank You all so much.. Forgive me for not answering your comments sooner. But our relationship was not public. We wanted some time to ourselves before going public. But what was said in the poem was so true of how it all started. Now we are public and we Milik and I thank you all for your best wishes in our new journey.
I want to thank you all for your kind comments. Simmie and are ecstatic to be able to share our happiness with you all and we are touched beyond measure by your warm support.
I love the way this poem develops. Like a flower opening... Beautiful!
Very telling and sweet!
Loved this Simmie and a_chica, a beautiful story of how friendship sometimes takes you by surprise and becomes so much more. x
Beautiful.
A loving story as much as a poem, what a fine moment when two people find each other and things resonate. Very beautifully described, really enjoyed it!
I love the understatedness (is that a word?) of this poem. Just perfect and beautiful.
Wonderful tantalizing words Simmie and a chika. It is said, patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait. Going in my favorites. x
