Ode To An Unknown Love

"A little poem inspired by a movie I saw that led me to write my own hopes and feelings."

I write this poem to state desire.

That I might feel a burning fire.

For someone I will love for life,

And will not give me endless strife,

But will love me in return.

For this my heart may always yearn.

I long for touch and soft caress,

But love has always been a mess.

I find it easy to fall in love, sometimes they even love me back.

But stability in relationships, for that I have not yet found the knack.

Like Edison I'll not see failure but merely ways it would not work,

Continuing to try for love is a task in which I will not shirk.

I'll find the way to make it go right,

And like Edison I too will find the light.

It seems that I can clearly see,

I have a disability.

Not autism, that I don't regret,

Yet love it seems I cannot net.

At least not for long, no not quite yet.

Someday I'll solve all these tough conundrums,

And get my heart out of these lonely doldrums.

True love will find me and I'll find it.

A relationship will be the perfect fit,

That makes love work without regret,

And I will catch it in a net.
