Men have to be strong,
Everyone says so,
Strength is in body and mind.
But nobody asks how I am.
The strength in my body is seeping away,
Inevitable with the years,
‘Dad’ is supposedly always strong,
But nobody asks how I am.
Cool and calm is the way I am,
It’s the way I’ve always been,
It’s an effort, and it’s tiring,
But nobody asks how I am.
Sometimes I scream in my head,
I just need a moment to recharge,
I’m still the same likeable guy,
But nobody asks how I am.
Others around me may be sick, or troubled,
We all have those things in life,
I’m always there as a rock,
But nobody asks how I am.
