A curve of moon
Cast shading
Across your sleeping face
A distant train
Was whistling
Sound alone through space
Awakened deep in nighttime
A chill slipped in the room
I pressed myself against you
To chase away the gloom
And just by merely sleeping
Lying next to me
My fears evaporated
Almost magically
Relaxing then beside you
The train whistled once more
I drifted back to sleep again
Soothed by your tender snore.
