A Key
A Lock
Something that opens
Something that holds
Not caged or cuffed
Yet more powerful than these
She is my key
She is my lock
Without her
My life has no meaning
I’m fighting for breath
Drowning in a sea of despair
For she keeps me safe
Locked in her care
Yet, she has thrown away the key
Never more
Will she unpick my combination
With the fingers of her mind
As words of life and love
Pour like honey from her soul
Locked
No longer with a key
No longer to live free
