About

Hi!
I am an early 50's white male, 5-11 and still practicing Noom to drop my current 200 lb to something a bit leaner. I studied metallurgical engineering in Madison, WI and have been doing that kind of work all my career. I am married to Laurie, own a home and like an active lifestyle.

Interests
I do like activity. The house requires it's own level of activity in repairs, remodels, maintenance, yardwork...all that and more. Just when you think you've done it you find yourself in a spot you hadn’t imagined, like on a ladder in a rainstorm. House stuff is more of a what I have to do, rather than really interest though.

I do like building and creating things in metal and wood. I’m talking mostly about useful things or things that fix other things when things break. LIke repairing an aging hose reel when part of it broke. I’ve dabbled in electronics, integrating simple things into projects or in repairs.

I played piano for many years. Lots of fun there playing for musicals at the high school and with/for students.

I like to bike, mostly but also hike, boat (canoe, john boat, kayak), fish and last but not least I am finding more and more that I like to cook. My mom was a great cook so I know where my influence lies! Miss her (and dad too!) but life will go on.

I am excited by the thought of bondage(!). Almost can’t believe I wrote that. That’s a long lived kink but I haven’t thought about again until very recently. Going to explore this more in the coming weeks, particularly self bondage.

Favorite Books
many many. Off the top of my head, Koontz's Odd Thomas series and about any other of his, By the light of the Moon, an earlier one, very good. The Lottery, Patricia Wood, great uplifting read. Am exploring some of the classics like trudging through Poe - some great stuff and some mind numbing. Ken Follet's Code to Zero and Hornet Flight, and others. Stephen J. Dubner and Steven Levitt books - their style is great and super interesting: Freakonomics, Think Like a Freak. Auel's Clan of the Cave Bear series, of course Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit - read those in 7th grade or so and still sometimes revisit.

Favorite Authors
Dean Koontz.
Ken Follett and a host of others. Jean Auel. Tolkien.

Favorite Movies
Joe Versus the Volcano is a classic I've recently seen again after decades.
There are so many. Fav's are probably mostly good with story, rom coms and the like but action is good. sci fi great, Bond is a good diversion once in a while.

Favorite TV Shows
Mostly cancelled ones now. Remember Joan of Arcadia?
Currently I've seen some Amazon shows I've liked like Upload, the Expanse, Carnival Row, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel(!).

Favorite Music
Some country, 80's/90's rock classics/popular, jazz - not all but big band is still a hit with me as well as smaller combo groups.
