Unlike the other guys here, it's not the confidence or the experience for me. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but ever since I was young I had a huge crush on my neighbor (then high 30s low 40s), and I have since had a strong attraction to mature women (35-50ish). To be honest, have never been with one, but I have always had this extreme attraction. And it is their looks that attracts me more than the perceived experience or expected performance in bed. I wish I had a better answer, but it is simply that I find mature women beautiful and sexy in a way that I tend not to find women closer to my age.
