Small update: Work has been kinda hectic lately, most who I talk to know I have a rather large schedule. Just got back from a 2 week vacation a few days ago so still catching up on messages. I don't jump on here on any kind of regular schedule so if you see me just say hi, I'll probably be at work.
It's kind of a funny story on how I ended up on this site. If your nice I might be willing to tell you. You'd get a laugh out of it, or you might get turned on. If you're lucky and see a link I post click on it. I'm not selling anything. It controls something I own. ?
I'm a CCT (Critical Care Transport) Paramedic in a large city in Michigan. I've been in the industry for 13 -14 years. I absolutely love and hate my job all at the same time. One thing I always get asked is what is the worst thing you have ever seen. (Some people don't get that your asking us to relive a nightmare we went through) I usually just tell them I've seen humanity at it's greatest and I've seen humanity at it's worst. I love helping people, thats one of the main reasons I do my job so well. It doesn't matter if it's using all my skills on bad trauma or just being there to hold someone's hand because there scared. I'm also a great listener, so if you ever need someone to talk to I'm always available.
A quote I heard when I first got into this field was that "EMS, we race the reaper." After doing this for so long I no longer believe this. I've learned a long time ago that if it's your time then it's your time. There is absolutely nothing I can do to change that. (I will do everything in my power to try though). I've learned death and EMS are more just a close respected acquaintance. Because in the end death is inevitable. No one escapes it. (I might be a little jaded from working this field for so long) I could tell you so many funny stories and you might fall of your bar stool. I also have ones that would make you gag, some that could make you throw up and some that would bring tears to your eye's. I like meeting new people. Even though I'm alittle antisocial / shy. Some one once told me I can be the nicest person in the world, but if you cross me God help you!
I DO NOT CAM OR UPLOAD / SHARE PERSONAL PICS. THERE WAS A BAD STALKING INCIDENT WITH A COWORKER THAT LEFT HER IN THE HOSPITAL FOR A FEW DAYS. IT'S MY DECISION, FOR MY SAFETY. PLEASE DON'T ASK.
