Parapsychology is studied in numerous countries throughout the world and has been for a very long time. I really dislike the use of such things for pure entertainment (I mean the whole talking to dead relatives stuff, on platform/stage) and I feel that it can really preys on the vulnerable, however, I have no doubt of its existence.
