About time dude! Great story but frankly I was expecting that. I think the Comp is trickier than it sounds, 1000 words complicates it. I liked my first attempt but it was 2000+. Fun Comp, good to see so many Rumps folks in there and lots of entries.

1. What first inspired you to write this particular story? It started with the word “glissando” which I immediately thought sounded like a Lush story. Then I came up with the opening line which was deliberately provoking but on its own could have multiple meanings.  I love the sound of a cello and I wanted to portray a woman being ‘played like an instrument’ but in a very different way. I actually wrote the ending first then needed to find the way there.  

2. How did you come up with these characters? Chloe, the female character is partly based on a friend, at least in physical appearance, Anton is more how I imagined an aging musician. I have an obsession with the name Chloe and use it in other stories too. For some reason I felt Anton had to be European. I wanted both characters to seem slightly flawed, more human. To an extent the characters, older teacher seduces young protégé, is a well used theme.

3. How does it differ from some of your other stories? It’s my first Fetish piece and although I have stories that feature bdsm elements this story is more extreme or at least unusual. I think this is the first story where I use music as central to the theme. Overall the story is, I think, simply ‘different’ due to the subject matter and unique circumstances.

4. What was the most challenging thing about writing this piece? I love the sound of a cello but know absolutely nothing about cellos except they have strings and a bow. I had to do a bit of reading to understand more about the cello, how it is played and familiarize myself with the terminology. Not sure how well I used the terminology, it would be great to hear from a cellist.

5. Anything else you want to tell us about it? I really attempted to make this a quality story and agonized over editing far more than I usually do. I debated putting the story in a category that would generate more views but in the end decided it belonged in “Fetish.” I feel the story is pretty good but it will likely disappear in to oblivion. I hope you’ll give it a read.
