A quick update for my Lush friends and fans who’ve reached out to inquire about my whereabouts and wellbeing. Before the presidential elections last fall, we made a plan as to what we would do in the event of a full Republican takeover of our government. Unfortunately, that is what happened, and the uncertainties trans people had about a second Trump term have become sad realities.

There’s no telling what the religious right wing zealots might do with their newfound power, but it is clear they’d like to just erase transgender people from society. So therefore, as a precaution, and for our own security, I removed and destroyed all my stories shortly after the election of Trump.

As much as I've enjoyed writing stories for you, I've drastically cut my internet presence to avoid becoming a target. I still visit Lush as a reader and to chat with friends through the mail feature, but with hatred and hostility towards trans people on the rise, it’s best to lay low for now. We’re simply too old to fight, and just want to live out the rest of our lives in peace.

We’ve sold our property in Iowa and have moved to the West Coast, where we’re looking into the legal and citizenship requirements of moving to Canada if things get as bad as we fear. I may, at some point, begin writing stories again, but right now I just don’t have it in me.
