Hey all,
I'm fairly new to writing full length stories and I'm looking for some advice. I enjoy writing long, slow-burn stories but I think I'm losing my readers because of the length and lack of real sexual engagement. There's plenty of teasing and such but no hardcore scenes. One of my problems that I'm aware of and working on, is that I take way too long between publishing chapters and I'm sure that plays a big part.
My question is, are readers willing to read through a longer story, with the real naughty stuff coming later, as long as all the chapters are available immediately? Or do I need to cut down on my length regardless? For example, my current story is about 9,000 words over 3 chapters. Theres been plenty of heated moments but no climax so to say.
Any advice is appreciated.
