She didn't make it up. "Bromance" is a neologism that is in fairly wide, if colloquial, use. The Urban Dictionary has your back on this one. Best place to go for slang and other stuff that doesn't always make the big dictionaries right away.

And "shipping" is the practice in fan fiction/culture of putting two characters together who aren't necessarily a couple in the original media. People have been "shipping" ice dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir a lot, so there's your precedent for shipping real people.

Interesting idea. But the thing is, authors are repeatedly warned, if they don't get a minimum of 10 votes, then their poems / stories will not qualify. So leaving it until the last minute, is inadvisable.
