I use a lot of real life knowledge and places in my stories.
The bookstore in Vellichor is a real place, there is also a cat there.
I do own some obnoxiously bright blue leggings. (Ice Cream)
The werewolf tale I am working on now is full of plant geekery which is 100% me. And the main character is constantly pushing her glasses back up her nose, which is a real life problem.
Such a bummer. Van Halen was a big part of my childhood. Though I will probably be slapped around a bit for admitting I liked Sammy better than David.
So I wrote a short story this summer and somehow one of my main characters turned into a werewolf. Super weird.
I saw "The Howling" at too young of an age and was (I thought) scarred for life. But then...
I've been doing my own reading and research, but I want to know what everyone's favorite and least favorite werewolf facts are. What's alluring, what's gross, what's too weird to be believable?
So far in my world:
He's pretty terrifying in werewolf form, not just an absurdly large, yet cuddly wolf (i.e. Twilight)
It's genetic
It doesn't have to be a full moon
Aconite (wolfsbane) is not appealing at all. (I'm also going full plant geek here.)
So tell me all your best werewolf facts, have fun with it.
Thanks!
I began to get serious about my writing at the end of last year. I had a story published on Aurore and have been writing a lot during quarantine (not as much as I would like since my day job didn't slow down much after the initial shutdown.) I have written a bunch of short stories (just submitted my second one here,) finished a second draft of a "cheesy western romance" (working title) and have a had a short I wrote start turning into some weird werewolf novel.
Anyway, I want someplace to share some of my writings but am too f*cking lazy to build my own website. Lush definitely has a nicer layout/interface than most of the other sites.
So, hi I'm Alison, nice to be here.
