Web site owners will see this thread, and think we are bad mouthing them, I don't care what kind of sites you are linking to, please don't do it!

I just found a free plagiarism checker, it uses a short quote from your stories and searches google and for a match, found one of mine just now

Looks like I can post links then

The site is www(dot)plagiarismchecker(dot)com
(Can someone who can post a link please post it for me)

Thanks MistressS. The link is http://www.plagiarismchecker.com/ I googled my stories but came up with nothing - was actually disappointed LOL - but then I tried plagiarismchecker and came up with one story being posted at '*** friends' by 'Lucy' with no link to Lush or myself.
Well...it looks like I Googled a line or two from every story I have posted here on Lush, and that's a few actually...

The good news is there are actually eight stories of mine that have not been plagiarized...

Now I just have to figure out what's so bad about them that people won't even steal them...Jeez, more work...

You know you want it, you know you need it bad...get it now on Amazon.com...
Lush Erotica, an Anthology of Award Winning Sex Stories
I have just written to the owners of fanfiction.net, it's rife. A story I wrote (under an alias here) is there too.

Here are the abuse / support email addresses:

Geesh. This day really sucks. I mean, really sucks. First, all the stolen stories, next bad news from my hematologist, and then a car accident. Good god! What's next?

But I agree with DM. I'm going nuts trying to find all the stories. I'm gonna need Valium.
I have over 10 on this site, and I've only looked on the first 29 pages. Woo. Hoo. :/

I spotted a couple of stories by sprite and by ropetease form here, on that site DM just gave.

I think just about everyone on Lush has a story over there...some of the titles even have "Lush" in the name, like this one...

There is literally about 100 pages of stories taken from here...

Thankfully all those stories were put up before I joined lush and posted my stories, so mine aren't (Unless they can tamper with the dates on there.
But I'll keep checking to see if more are added.
ok, 3 days to get two stories and a bio taken down, dealing with snarky mods and an unresponsive admin. Not sure if i want to devote any more energy to this right now. seems kind of pointless and i am feeling disillusion creepy in. glad to know there are honest site like Lush, but i think we are in the minority.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

That's pretty much it I'm afraid Sprite.

Anyone can steal your stories from any site whatsoever and repost them anywhere on the web. How are the web site owners to know who wrote the stories? We have a very good moderator team here, even detecting different styles of story from the same member, we often pick up the plagiarisers. There are other dead giveaways too of course, but I won't go into our trade secrets

Thing is, it would have been nice if it felt like they cared enough at least look into it. Doll and I got treated pretty shabby IMO and I talked with someone on the site who said it would probably be a week or more before we were actually acknowledged by the admin. If we were, I'm not holding my breath after all that. Mickey Mouse is my description of it. Actually, stronger language was used. smile What really ticks me off, is that this person was stealing stories from other members of the site itself who had complained and gotten stone walled as well - sad that it took Doll and I to take care of what should have been an internal site issue. fuck em. seriously. I hope they burn. I am beyond pissed. And i get it that we need to make the claims and offer proof, which we did. i am just... i wish it didn't bother me so much, but it does.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

That is precisely why sites like that fail / resort to stealing other people's stories.

It is also why I firmly believe we're the best in the business, we do actually care and take a professional approach. I am proud of that, and of our admin team. They all do a wonderful job.
I just wanted to let people know that if you find your stories stolen (without credit to you as the author) on someone's 'blog' and you want it removed, it's extremely easy to do this. I was successful in less than 24 hours with minimal effort.

I didn't bother to contact the blog owner in this case (I couldn't even find a contact method for them). I just went through Google.

Go to the top left corner of the blog and you will find a "Report Abuse" button.

Here is an example from a site that had several of my stories.

You will be led into a series of easy to fill out forms on "Report a term of service violation". Just click copyright/piracy issue and fill things out from there. I just used my Lush page as proof of copyright.

You will get a confirmation email from Google and also a resolution notice from Google that they deleted it from the site pretty quickly. I was impressed with their speed and efficiency on this after the trainwreck on that "other site" that Sprite and I were dealing with.
That's great DD.
I've just found two of my stories out there and getting on the "remove my stories from your site please" train.

I'm with DM... To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, The Only Thing Worse Than Being Plagiarised Is Not Being Plagiarised....

(Seriously, though, it's appalling behaviour and I really can't understand the mind-set of a fan of Erotic Writing who would then STEAL another writer's work.... In a weird way it's rather flattering to those of us who are ardent Lush members, since not only wouldn't we countenance such underhand THEFT but apparently we have some of the best eroticists on the net, since lesser sites are pillaging our stuff. Small consolation to the talented writers who have been gypped, I admit.... And they have my sincere sympathy...)

As far as I can tell none of mine have been reproduced.... Guess I must try harder!!!!!! (JOKE!)

Surprise Party just turned up on another site by a person who's banned from that site. Talk about irony.

www.szadvntures.com

Latest story:

 • TBD

 • Bump in the Night-Microfiction

 • Smoke Break-Interracial

As prevalent as this obnoxious practice seems to be, can't help but wonder if Lush is an unwitting host to some of these parasites. Some of the stories here show more depth and maturity than you would think possible given the age and experience of the author.

It could almost be humorous if a true Lush story pirated to anohter site was stolen from that site and returned to Lush as an orginal.

My only story here was nicked, acknowledgments and all, by "lily" on the 521friends site. (Thanks for the heads-up, Em!)

A Google search on the title turned up a handful of other results, but they all appear to be dead links. I haven't gotten around to looking for those clever enough to change the title before posting my copyrighted work.

My stories too have been stolen and posted on that site. I am actually quite shocked since I did not think they were all that good to begin with. I have looked the site over, but do not see a "contact us" option like we have. How are you guys getting in contact with that site?

Just a question... has anyone here had any luck at all with this site. I finally did a search on all the stories in my writing portfolio and "Lily" and "Tracy" have literally stolen my entire portfolio of writing. Every single one shows up. I joined the site but still waiting for them to 'authorize' my account in order to find a link to contact admin. I looked up whois and found a weird email addy for the owner but haven't heard anything back from them. Has anyone had any success with figuring this site out or getting any response from anyone?
I just found an exact copy of one of my stories at http://www.leilaliberal.ca

That was after Googling. I've never heard of that site before.

Damn!

i just go my authorized email this morning - Mistress of Words sent me two email addys to try, but so far, i haven't started in on it yet, i think that's today's agenda, and yeah, i am guessing they have everything of mine there too - already verified at least half of my library at which point i stopped looking.

A quick message to Dancing Doll and sprite:

I'm not sure why you've decided to rag on the folks at the Literate Union. The administrators of that forum are NOT the administrators of the website, and other than report stories, there is next to nothing they can do about these plagiarized stories. When a plagiarizing author deletes their stories, and they are unable to report said stories, they are, in effect, powerless.

You complained that you'd been waiting three days for a response to your email; I would consider it reasonable to allow the very busy site administrators some time off on the weekend. Yes, it is a fairly big deal that someone stole your stories and biography, but with millions of stories and countless users, you can bet that they get a hundred emails like yours every week. The internet's a big place, after all.

My final point is thus; you were not respectful in the least, so please don't try to claim you were. You came to the forum with complete disregard for the rules, and when you were given advice on how to best solve the problem and pointed to the correct place to introduce yourself, you turned your noses up at the forum's moderators. Your profile picture may be an attractive blonde women, but your entitlement issues are nothing but ugly.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Maybe next time you visit the Literate Union, we'll be able to do something constructive together

Just for reference: this was my post in that forum. I consider this matter as a dead issue. Please refrain from cross-site trolling.

Hi, I am the author whose bio and story was stolen from another site.

I will be happy to introduce myself in the proper thread right after I post this, but just wanted to say in response to Bitter_Sea_Light's post about proving plagiarism. I have the screen shots to prove it before this member deleted the stories themselves. If this will provide the necessary grounds for banning a member, please let me know what email address I should direct the screen shot proofs too. I always take screen shots for legal purposes. I take copyright violation quite seriously as I am also professionally published.

Apologies if SpriteKitty and I are coming across as demanding because that's not our intention. But plagiarism in any form (whether in actual stolen stories or biography) is a serious offence.

Re the bio: it may not seem like a big deal for someone to be impersonating you or stealing a bio, but for someone who has worked hard across all social media sites to brand themselves and build a name it is quite upsetting.

Thanks for your kind responses.

Sincerely,

Ashleigh Lake

Ah, I see how it works now. When you post on another site, it's seeking help, but when I do it, it's trolling. Funny how hypocrisy works, isn't it?

I think you may have forgotten to include the snark-filled posts dismissing the forum's rules. Funny how omission of facts works, isn't it?

Despite claims to the contrary, your position as a published author does not earn you instant respect, and in the future, I would refrain from throwing your titles around like they mean anything. If the opportunity ever arose for you to introduce yourself and your work to the thousands of serious, nonsex-based writers, you would be laughed out of the room.
SumYungGai. Welcome to our site. If you intend to join our community and enjoy yourself, then let us know how we can help with that. If you're butthurt because a victim of plagiarism showed her displeasure and you think it made a site you're part of look bad, then you're going about this the wrong and most disprespectful way. There's no need to cast judgement on writers; that's not what this issue is about. We're not interested in starting a war, we're only interested in maintaining integrity of a writer's work, no matter the genre. I'd think that you would be interested in the same thing, no?

a few points. One. We never ragged on them. I think, if you read our initial posts, you'll agree that they were respectfully worded. Yes, i realized later that they were powerless to help us, something that surprised me, seeing that the mods here have the site owners ear. On this site the mods have a little more clout. as for having time off on weekends, before we posted on the forum, we had been in contact with members of the fanfic community who had also reported their stories stolen and had not had any luck in having them removed. I was not simply venting or trying to harass anyone on the forum, i was simply trying to get some answers so i could figure out where to go from there. I think, if you read carefully, you will see my first post merely contained questions. i was not being sarcastic, i was looking for answers.

as for the rules, i was told to introduce myeslf. i did. i wasn't aware that i had to do so in a special thread. being a new, i was unaware of the protocol. yes, perhaps i could have handled it better, but by this time i was quickly growing frustrated by admins who seemed more concerned with the rules then with helping a potentially new member out. as for respect, if you ask around this site, you'll find that i am usually quite respectful and well regarded here, so perhaps it should have gone both ways. in the end i felt shabbily treated and my closing comment is that, if the site is so big that they can't handle issues like this in a timely manner, perhaps they need to look into having a larger staff.

respectfully,
sprite.

It was not my intention to judge, only to remind a pair of your users that respect is a two-way street, and not one that can be paved over with false niceties. If they wanted our help, they should have approached us much more humbly.

Sprite: I would say that I, too, am a generally well-respected and respected member of the community in which I write and publish my stories. Would you like to know the difference between us, though?

I don't need to post pictures of my pussy to get views.
Okay, that's enough. We're not going to slam members here, it's not how we treat each other. Please come back when you're ready to be respectful. You know...that whole "two way street" you were referring to.
The phrase "He doth protest too much" comes to mind. Either he himself is guilty of plagarism or he knows who is. And he isnt' too bright as he is making statements that are easily proven false. DD and Sprite have no pussy pics, and trust me. I would know! Their writing is original and good. The sum of Sum's posts are only to imflame and hide the real issue. Don't be baited.

One of my stories has been stolen as well. I know, I thought the same thing. That guy must have been desperate. It's on a different site though. Shame when people can't think for themselves. Mine is on emotionliteracy.com I'll be pursuing things there.

I'm happy here and I've got friends here and I do what I do and I get what I like.... If this person is an example of what's out there I thank my fucking stars I stuck with Lush Stories...)

I mean WOW! Imagine sending personal insults to people who (a) have a genuine grievience, (b) are being firm and polite about expressing that, (c) are UNDENIABLY fine writers by any criterion, (d) happen to be extremely thoughtful and supportive (not to say often very clever and funny) human beings as referenced by their many Forum posts and, (e) ALWAYS (despite what we do and where we are!) conduct themselves with an elegance and an intelligence that I, as a proud gentleman, find utterly enthralling....
