How to vote on stories

I can’t seem to find how to vote on stories. I can like, favourite and comment but where is the vote option?

It was changed some time back to be just like or favourite.

It seems “voting” or “liking” stories have become a pain in the ass.

How so?

Tap "like" to like a story and give it one point.

Tap "favorite" to favorite a story and give it one point.

Tap both to give two.

Seems simple to me.

Now if someone is hankering for the days when they could mess up someone's score by downvoting them, they are SOL. As they should be. The worst you can do now is nothing, which doesn't really affect their score either way.

Why would somebody want to give somebody a negative review on their story? If you don't like something then move along there's no reason to be negative. Sorry just the way I see it.

Some people found it an enjoyable pastime. It's sad, but true. Ironically, those one and two votes turned into straight likes when the system switched over. A number of my efforts benefited from that.

I just don't understand how people can be that way! If you have nothing good to say don't say anything at all! There is so much here on the site, for everyone to enjoy. There is no reason to be negative towards somebody's talented work, if you don't like what they put out. I'm very glad that the new system has benefited people, as being kind of a newbie here I'm glad I understand the system better.

Not to mention a way to passive-aggressively harass people. Which I suppose might have been an enjoyable pastime for some as well.

Yep, kind of hard to fathom why people would behave that way, but it’s the Internet.
