If a story can be approved but the image is not permitted, the story moderator will remove the image, approve the story, and send a note to the author to let them know their image wasn't suitable.

Daft little question, can we add an image to a published work without it needing to be re-verified?
Please browse my digital bookshelf. In this collection, you can find 112 full stories, 10 micro-stories, and 2 poems with the following features:

* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.
Fuck it... Weeks go by with promises of better tools for writers and nothing happens. You can add photos to replies but not stories. Hell, replies have tools as good as stories.
I get messages from followers saying they no longer get notices when I FINALLY (after 2 to 3 WEEKS of waiting for a moderator to post it) get a new story posted.
Face it! This site which advertises to and for writers is nothing but a chat room now.
Why the hell would anyone want to spend money to upgrade on a crap site now?
The tools for writers have been improved, however there is much more to come .
The moderators all volunteer their time, and there is also the system then that Gold members and competition stories will be prioritised.

I don't want to be pedantic, but what does "photos depicting insertion" mean?
Is this cover from two years ago no longer allowed?
If it is allowed, is it because it doesn't "depict insertion" (although it certainly implies it)?
Or maybe because it isn't a photo of real people but a constructed image?
I'm considering doing something similar and don't want to spend the time if it's no longer acceptable.

No, that's fine. We just don't want anything too graphic or hardcore.

Keep in mind that the story image format has substantially changed in Lush2. It is now only portrait mode. Images are to be sized to 512 x 800 pixels, but will actually be rendered at half that on screen. They will also be compressed by about 85%, so a very simple, high contrast image is recommended. Even with that, they may show up quite blurry, making type hard to read unless large and bold.

I know. I lament those format changes but was going to try anyhow. The Profile Photos FAQ has similar language but says "something that you'd see in a newspaper"--do they mean The Times or The Post?😉
Just discovered something relating to this thread: Unlike old LS, cover images are no longer accessed from your media, so you do not need to upload them first. Uploading images to your media takes a long time for some reason.
But adding (uploading) a cover image to a story you're editing happens immediately.

If you are lucky. Mine took 15 minutes the last time. By then, I had been logged out and had to start over. It eventually worked.

When I add a cover image, I can't submit the story. If I remove the image it submits just fine. I have double checked the size and even made it smaller. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
By "Can't Submit" do you mean that after you click the submit button, it just sits with the progress spinner and never progresses to the preview screen? If that's the case and you have slow internet, you might wait a little longer, because it takes a while for a story with an attached image to upload even on reasonably quick internet speeds.

The rules for cover images at the top of stories are the same as those for avatars. No hardcore shots, closeups of genitals, or photos depicting insertion are permitted.
May I include an image which includes a stylised line drawing of female genitalia?

Maybe off topic - sorry. But why when my profile states that I am 53 do some videos in gallery state that only over 18 can view them?
That is standard jargon from video feeds, which is where the stuff is coming from. Lush simply opens the link. Past that, it's up to you.

Hi, is 512x800 still the requirement?
I'm working on my first submission. Found a good image on DeviantArt that is creative commons.
The image when resized to 512 wide is shorter than 800 high but that leaves room on a 512x800 canvas to add both the artist credit and the CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 notice, both required for Creative Commons image use.
Is that okay to do? I'm hoping to submit the story with cover image before the end of June. Intellectual property rights are important to me so I have to follow the rules when using a Creative Commons image and would rather they be text on the image file itself, in the resulting top/bottom white margin from fitting it onto a 512x800 image.
I can do bold sans-serif which survives a resize better.

Unrelated Side Note - "The Once and Future Kink" is a great title, I'm going to have to find it, the book the title parodies was a favorite in my youth.

The recommended size was changed a while back to 768 x 1200. A sys mod will have to address the attribution credit thing -- which is a good question.

There is a good cover creator now in lush that let's you design the cover bringing in an image and choosing a font from their selection. You can resize/crop the image to fit best and add whatever text you want. You just click on the add cover box in the page where you are writing the story
2 competition winning stories, 1 Famous story, a smattering of Editor's Picks, a handful of Recommended Reads and one Clitorides award are scattered amongst my stories.
One of a handful of writers to get the Omnium badge for writing in every category
