Some would say that the assasinations of JFK, MLK, RFK were examples of domestic terrorism.

The Hinckley shooting of Reagan was carried out by a single, chemically-deranged gunman (fueled by Valium) whose parents were long time friends of Reagan's vice president - George HW Bush (so I don't count that as terrorism - just another example of the Secret Service selectively allowing themselves to be used & misdirected. Hinckley should have never come within 300 yards of Reagan that day).

Some say that the Janet Reno directed destruction of the Waco compound of David Koresh was state sponsored terrorism, just as was the Ruby Ridge fiasco.

The Unabomber was another single, long running act of terrorism which stretched across a decade - definitely domestic in nature (and not state sponsored).

There is little doubt that the Oklahoma City bombing of 1995 was an act of domestic terrorism, although questions linger still as to which individuals escaped capture, while others insist it was pulled off by a pair of miscreants.

Millions of people feel that 9/11/2001 was also terrorism (but many are divided whether there was a domestic flavor sprinkled amongst the chaos of that Tuesday - as well as a foreign planned and executed day of terror) - while the first attack on the WTC in 1993 was not domestic in nature. (Building WTC7 which housed the records of various US agencies like the FBI, ATF, IRS and CIA, magically disintegrated several hours after the last twin tower collapsed).

January 6, 2021 was simply the latest act of domestic terrorism which captivated the attentions of millions of Americans who were going about their activities that afternoon - when the speakers/Trump surrogates - at the elipse urged thousands of MAGA to march to the capitol and FIGHT (trial by combat - Rudy Guiliani). There is zero doubt as to who instigated and caused the attempted coup de'tat that day, and it wasn't BLM, Antifa or any liberal flavored organizations.

The result is escalating violence in U.S. cities between extremists from opposing sides, a major break from historical trends. In 2021, over half of all domestic terrorist incidents occurred in the context of metropolitan demonstrations. In addition, the most frequent targets of attacks were government, military, and law enforcement agencies, who are increasingly at the center of domestic terrorism by extremists of all ideologies.

The executive director of Northern New Mexico’s food bank, The Food Depot, says the recent U.S. Department of Agriculture’s elimination of a program that connected food banks to local food producers is “devastating.”

The Regional Farm to Food Bank program, created under the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act, is currently funded through the USDA Local Food Purchase Assistance, one of two federal programs the USDA recently canceled.

According to a news release from The Food Depot and the New Mexico Farmers Marketing Association, last year, the RF2FB program accounted for 34% of all institutional purchases from small and midsize producers in the New Mexico Grown program.

Under the program, officials say, more than 200 farmers, ranchers and other food producers have sold close to 900,000 pounds of locally grown food since January 2023, providing 749,502 healthy meals distributed across all 33 of the state’s counties.

The USDA announced in October of last year a $500 million extension of the LFPA plan, with $2.8 million designated for New Mexico. Then, on March 7, the USDA informed the New Mexico Department of Agriculture the program that agreement would be terminated, the news release said, and the program will end when the current program ends at the end of June.

Organizers say 94% of last year’s RF2FB purchases came from socially disadvantaged and historically underserved producers.

“Without this support, we risk losing more than income; we risk losing the ability to sustain our land, our families, and our way of life,” Manny Encinias, owner of Trilogy Beef and Buffalo Creek Ranch in Moriarty, New Mexico said in a statement. “This decision doesn’t just impact ranchers. It threatens the entire rural economy, including locally owned businesses like our USDA meat processing facility, which depends on ranching families like us to stay in operation. Perhaps most concerning, it makes it even harder to bring the next generation back to the ranch.”

The current administration is a domestic terrorist organization.

When the flight attendants joined GlobalX, it was a startup with big plans. It sold investors and new hires alike on a vision of VIP clients, including musicians and sports teams, and luxury destinations, especially in the Caribbean. “You can’t beat the eXperience,” read a company tagline.

But as the airline grew, more and more of its planes were filled with migrants in chains. Some flight attendants were livid about it.

Last year, an anonymous GlobalX employee sent an all-caps, all-staff screed that ricocheted around the startup. “WHERE IS THE COMPANY GOING?” the email asked. “YOU SIGNED A 5 YEAR CONTRACT WITH ICE? ... WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS BECOMING A PRESTIGE CHARTER AIRLINE?”

One flight attendant said he kept waiting for the sports teams his new bosses had talked about as he flew deportation routes. “You know, the NFL charters, the NBA charters, whatever the hockey one is …” he said.

A second said his planes’ air conditioning kept breaking — an experience consistent with at least two publicly reported onboard incidents — and their lavatories kept breaking, something another flight attendant reported as well. But the planes kept flying. “They made us flush with water bottles,” he said.

But the flight attendants were most concerned about their inability to treat their passengers humanely — and to keep them safe. (In 2021, an ICE spokesperson told the publication Capital & Main that the agency “follows best practices when it comes to the security, safety and welfare of the individuals returned to their countries of origin.”)

They worried about what would happen in an emergency. Could they really get over a hundred chained passengers off the plane in time?

“They never taught us anything regarding the immigration flights,” one said. “They didn’t tell us these people were going to be shackled, wrists to fucking ankles.”

“We have never gotten a clear answer on what we do in an ICE Air evacuation,” another said. “They will not give us an answer.”

“It’s only a matter of time,” a third said, before a deportation flight ends in disaster.
