Well, Rudy Gulianni has lost his defamation case. The lawsuit was filed by two Fulton County poll workers. Guilianni was unable to produce any defense material in the required time frame. He just let it lapse on purpose.

Obviously, Gulianni had no evidence to exonerate him or he would've produced it. The theory is, that he thought he would get a less punitive financial ruling by not producing any evidence. So, the judge declared him guilty.

The next phase since is officially guilty, is a trial to see how much he will have to pay in punitive damage. Many attorneys think his tactic backfired on him, and he will pay a fucking fortune, possibly leaving him totally broke. Maybe Trump, out if the kindness of his heart for his failed attorney, will give ole Rudy some cash so he can eat.

But in the latter 1900s and certainly now in the 21st century, it is the Republicans who are going all out to limit who can vote. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has finally admitted she had a personal relationship with a special prosecutor in Donald Trump’s election interference case—but denies claims that the affair tainted the investigation.

In a Friday 176-page court filing, Willis’ office denied any financial conflict of interest that warrants her disqualification from the racketeering case. The filing also denies that she had any personal conflict of interest and calls the attacks on special prosecutor Nathan Wade “factually inaccurate, unsupported, and malicious.”

The motion also states that Wade and Willis did not have a personal relationship back in November 2021, when he was hired to oversee and investigate claims that Trump and his allies sought to interfere with the 2020 Georgia election. But, in Wade’s affidavit submitted in the filing, the special prosecutor admits that “attorney Willis and I developed a personal relationship in addition to our professional association and friendship.”

Wade said in his affidavit that he has never “cohabitated,” shared household expenses or shared a joint financial account with Willis. He added that he has previously paid for travel for himself and Willis from his “personal funds” and that the DA has also paid for their trips.

The special prosecutor then provided a receipt of his billable hours and confirmation emails of flights to Miami that he said Willis purchased.

“While the allegations raised in the various motions are salacious and garnered the media attention they were designed to obtain, none provide this Court with any basis upon which to order the relief they seek,” the filing states.

I don’t think there was any part of their romantic entanglements that would interfere with the case.

That being said with all the attention and all the scrutiny it was a tremendously poor decision for them. People were going to pick this prosecution apart for any reason they could. It was fuel they should never have lit.

It is very unfortunate that a great case against Trump and his cronies will most likely be destroyed by this lack of good judgment by the prosecutor. A real bummer, as a conviction could've disqualified Trump from being eligible to run for office.
