Oh yeah, I feel this way at times even though the math tell me otherwise. We had ours fairly late so I've really only been a parent for about a third of my life.

You know you're a parent when dirty laundry in the closet doesn't mean something secret you did in your misspent youth.
You know your a parent when the doctor says "Its a boy" or "Its a girl"... You know your a good parent when strangers compliment you on the behavior of your child... You know your a great parent when your child says "Thanks dad.... I hope I become as good a father as you some day"...
You go to pay at the store and you cannot find your credit card for all of the stickers, socks, broken toys, lollipops, first aid kit, hand sanitizer and random kid items in the way.
You know you're a parent of several kids when the youngest figures out that if he yells out the letters "M O M" it'll get your attention first.

You know you're a parent when you earn frequent flier miles from the local hospital emergency room.
You know you are a parent when I haven't had a dime to spare for years.
You know you are a parent when you are on 5 mg of Valium a day.
You know when you are a parent when:
1. you make 3 types of eggs on a single pan
2. make 2 types of "salads" ( with/wo onions/peppers/tomatoes....),
3. Give homework instructions \
4. query over the phone when the last kid is coming home..

ALL AT THE SAME TIME
You know when you are a parent when you try to remember who watched the kid when you were on vacation and realize you are talking about your honeymoon..
when you say "i would never have got away with tat when i was a kid so you aren't either"
You know you're a parent when you catch yourself saying, "Because I said so!"

You know you're a parent when you know exactly where everything that everyone in your house has lost, but you can't remember why you walked into a room.

You know you're a parent when people stop calling you by your first name, and refer to you as (insert child's name) mom (or dad).

I have a new story out! Wish You Were Here A teasing sub may I have pushed too far, but the punishment is oh so sweet.

Nightshade Part 1 & Nightshade: Part 2

You know you are a parent when you go from thinking you know everything to realizing you know nothing
When you walk into your bedroom, see toilet paper everywhere with the two of them in the middle of it, and just turn around and walk out saying, "I don't care how it happens, but all of this better be gone when I come back." smile
