Terence Mann (played by James Earl Jones) in Field of Dreams.
"Ray, people will come Ray. They'll come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. Of course, we won't mind if you look around, you'll say. It's only $20 per person. They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come"
Superman/Clark Kent played by Christopher Reeve
Norman Bates played by Anthony Perkins
George Bailey played by James Stewart
Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird.
Perfection.
Funny you should ask.
Has to be Catherine Banning(Thomas Crown Affair 1999) by Rene Russo. Even if the film was limited to the dance scene
In fact I played my version just this past weekend for a Birthday Party.
As I said Funny you should ask.
Loved the two sidekicks in "Oh Brother, Where art Thou" (We...thought....you....was...a....toad!)
"Patton" is probably the movie I have watched the most times....George S. was quite the rennaissance man. LOL. I guess I would pick Patton as played by George C. Scott.
Holly Golightly!! I realize that she was originally from the novella by Capote, but Audrey Hepburn made that character her own.
As an actress I would agree with Labellefille on Audrey Hepburn.....but if we look at the total arc of character development I think I need to go with Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) in Godfather I and II. The way his character develops and his icy demeanor at the end is amazing.
Technically a book character first but the narrator/tyler durden from fightclub
Smeagol/Golum...what a study of humanity. he gets sucked in by temptation, then, even after hundreds of years, when presented with a better example he casts off his dark side; only to be slapped back into fractured self by betrayal. and yet.. he falls and dies in the fires of Mount Doom, sacrificing himself on the alter of obsession...saving them all.
Elle Woods in Legally Blonde (the movies and the musical!)
Ferris Bueller, of course.
Well, not technically from a movie, but my favourite fictional character on tv is the Doctor.
From an actual film, probably Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction. As a huge Tarantino fan, I guess I like pretty much every character from his films.
John Wayne-Jacob McCandles...In Big Jake

CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW CHARLIE SHEEN WINNING

Indiana Jones...no question. An associate of mine in Bangkok seems to think I resemble him a bit. I think he looks like Jackie Chan. We both probably need eye exams.
