Of course this is not serious, but I have a true short story.

I was in U.S. Navy "boot camp", north of Chicago and one of the guys
was from Chicago.

He was (and is) Chinese, and took three of us on the train to downtown
Chicago to an authentic Chinese restaurant.

I mean this is Chinatown and the only people walking around are
Chinese.

I liked everything except for some clear semi-liquid gelatin that is
made of eggs and sterno, or something like that.

Like I said, everyone in the restaurant is Chinese except for us three,
and the Chinese guy that brought us here.

Anyway, we had a fun time and got back to the barracks on time.

I love Chicago!

Some normal foods here that we have in egypt, stuffed cows intestines, cow or camel brains, cow kidneys, spleen (this one I never had), chicken liver and heart, cow tail, some part of the cow knees that is sometimes also made into soup, the name of which I don't know in English, but it's known to be really good for sex..... stuffed pigeons we eat, and I think almost anything that comes out of the sea.
oh and some ppl, but not me yet, eat grass hoppers.........

I'm actually very picky and not very adventurous with my food.. if it looks funny I don't eat it.. The weirdest thing I've ever ate was Calamari.. and never again.. I don't do rubbery food well yuck!

When I was undergoing review at a review school for the board exam I have a classmate that's from Palawan, we spent our 2 weeks break at their place, we went to the place which has mangroves then we dared to eat the Tamilok, they called it Mangrove worm. It's not really a worm, it's a mollusk just like oyster. It eats mangrove wood and you can find them inside those mangrove roots and it's long, it looks gross but it's yummy lol i rinsed mine with vinegar.

Not so adventurous in food...but at the races one of the teams fired up the grill and they had kabobs that were made with venison, elk and bear, and they were very tasty. As a little girl we had a school field trip to Chinatown in San Francisco and I found a dish that was quite tasty until they told me it was octopus. Still won't eat it again!

any and all fish (not raw, damn!!!! I'm a redneck and raw is just bait)
and then the most weirdest thing that I ever ate was a MRE= Meals Ready to Eat, best one's are the one's that have a tootsie roll for dessert.

Yes, I do like them. I've had them in chowder and sliced thin breaded and fried. I have a friend who eats them raw with a sauce. (Sort of like sushi). I have not tried them that way yet as I am particular about my seafood being fresh. I live inland from Seattle, and although I have heard that Geoduck can last for days, wrapped in a wet towel in a cold refrigerator, I am not willing to risk transporting one fresh from the coast.

As a side note, did you know that geoduck can live to be 150 years old? (If not eaten first. ;-)

I've eaten a lot of those.

Sea urchin sushi, "uni" is delicious.

I'd never eat dog or horse meat, but I have tried Kangaroo and Crocodile. Any kind of insects don't appeal to me in the slightest tongue6

The creepiest thing I've eaten is probably Lobster sashimi in Japan. It had been almost frozen so it was still alive, but thawing out - but they'd cut it clean in half - opened up the rear of it so you can eat the raw lobster meat. The front part with all the legs attached still was moving up and down as the brain was gradually dying. Totally freaked me out once I saw it starting to move.

well im kinda in the same boat as freefallin. Rattlesnake, ants, grubs, and other wierd stuff as far as the meaty variety goes. Plants well i dont even know what all of those i have eaten. But for me i think it has to be the dark brown MRE package #2 Corn beef hash. I dont care who you are if you can stomach that shit you deserve to get a medal, if you can make it taste good they should give you the Medal Of Honor.
