I was a skinny red headed freckle faced four eyed geek that played drums in the marching band in high school. As a senior i had people in school that thought i was a freshman
On the other hand at the age of 17 I was playing drums in a rock band that played in bars on weekends (at that time Ohio was a 19 state). This band even played at the Cleveland Agora the day after my 18th birthday. Admittedly we played in the basement but the band on the main stage was bombing so everybody came downstairs to listen to us play.
When I was 23 I worked for a school system where the principal would start yelling at me every couple of weeks because he thought I was a student and not an employee.
Now I have degrees in physics and engineering, I work on construction sites, I ride a Harley, and when I go to my class reunions I get the girls that ignored me in high school giving me loads of attention. I don't know what cool is and I don't give a crap.

And that earned me the privilege of asstards pulling over their trucks on the street so they could pile out and beat the goth kid in fishnets, back in the mid-90's.
If that qualified me as "cool", maybe someone should have cc'ed me on that freaking e-mail.

I was very not cool in high school. I was that girl with her head in a book and walked while looking at her feet. I was always known as the weird twin sister to my brother who was very much cool. I am glad though, never really wanted to be cool.
As for now, still not cool. But I would not have it any other way.

In High School, I was in the swimming and athletics squad (track & field), I played rugby, cricket, basketball, hockey & tennis. But during lunch breaks and some free classes, I played, Dungeons & Dragons. So I don't know how cool/not so cool that made me, but I know I'm cool now.
