Under-30s Don't Know What "Lush" Means...

At least not according to a recent UK survey. People between 18-30 don't understand any of these words either...

Speaking as a member of this group, I wish I could say that this survey is balderdash, and that the wally who did it must have been sozzled. But maybe I'm in a minority...

In any case, I hereby declare that the next "Lush" story I write will include all of these words!

This post is Lush, it is!

LUSH
In English, the word lush can mean someone who likes their alcohol a little too much, but in Wales, it takes on an entirely different interpretation. Instead, lush can mean something very nice but it can also mean something totally awesome. The extend of how great something is will really depend on the context.

Well as one outside that age bracket I can honestly say I knew every one of them.
I remember a pub (public house/bar/drinking establishment) from when I was about 12 put up a huge new sign "Discotheque".
I read it wrong and for years was convinced it was a strip joint, a Disclotheque....

Anyway, I'm sending that picture to my daughter in her early 20s to see if knows what they all mean.

ETA
At 21, my daughter only did NOT know only 2 - cad and bounder, which are more archaic.

Is that all British slang? British slang is awesome. Just once, I'd like to call someone 'ye muppet' or something.

"The Punished Nonpartisan" <- Extreme BDSM and humiliation story. Heavy on plot. Served on a plate of political drama with a side of domestic terror. Currently Free download.

Jocelyn the Wicked <- futanari, fantasy fan fic, and some tentacles that escaped the laboratory

Possibly my favourite accent is that from South Wales (the Valleys), and some of the slang is just lush!
To understand some of the things in the links below, an idea of how the accent sounds and perhaps a little cultural knowledge might help. I hope you enjoy it though (I used both for research for one of my characters who turned out right tidy).

Maybe that's because you're the Queen of Lush and you're out of touch with the subjects of your realm? Ha Ha

But, I absolutely LOVE your idea for a story using all the words! Actually, I think it should be the theme of the next competition! Nicola?

Hey everyone - remember my promise to write a story containing all of these words?

I've now done it, and it's online - it's called "Private Show 2 - Saucy Strap-On Sextet".

It was a bit tricky to fit them all into a contemporary story, but hopefully it doesn't feel too contrived.

See if you can spot them all!

Oh, and the story also contains one brand-new word - "fucktipede" - never before seen in a Lush story (probably).

If you want to find out more, you'll need to read the story!

I thought that version of Lush was Welsh. I've heard Cowyn Lush (yes I know the spelling is off) as All good/fine for me.

Whatever was posted is always meant in love and respect never to offend.
I'm also highly likely to have posted this from a phone so there may be typos or odd word changes, auto correct can be a pain.

I've been listening to my kinky pencil here's my current work

They invented the language. I guess it's theirs to squander. To be fair, though, even though I'm familiar with all those words, I think the only words in that list I might use in general conversation are "boogie" and "henceforth," and even those don't get a lot of play.

Don't believe everything that you read.

You mean gen z and most gen y don't understand slang from three to five decades ago? Ya don't say, dawg. These Jive turkeys just don't know the low down.
