Housecleaning done. This calls for a vino. Red, please. On to ... well, I'm not sure.
I am almost finished a Halloween story for StoriesSpace. I am trying to make this an annual thing. Last year I went Lovecraftian. This year it's a bit lighter, or was until I came up with a rather dark stinger for the ending. You'll see what I mean when it drops. Maybe in the next few days.
I have also started learning image manipulation in GIMP (open source competitor of Photoshop) with a view to getting my game up for story covers.
I have ideas for the comp but no will to try to add sex to the mysteries. Doing what I do in real life, a computer crime tale is what I am contemplating. No murders or violence, just a hack and an IT manager (i.e. me) or security analyst trying to trace what happened and recover things before, well, something happens. Haven't got that far yet. Most likely will shelve it for future use but if I can figure out a way to make it erotic that isn't too kludgy (adding sex for the sake of having sex), maybe.

Not sure whether you wanted a BIG glass of red, or a small one – so I've poured you the small one. Let me know if you need more.
Meanwhile, I have a report from Kat – and it's heartbreaking. She and all of her family are OK, but their condo development took a BIG hit, along with the entire region – plus places farther north, especially North Carolina. She sent me the attached photo.
The piles of sand were removed from the condo grounds – but do NOT include the sand in the pool or the pool deck, which have yet to be cleared. The pool was completely filled in.
Both her and her husband's cars were totaled, as were their e-bikes. They are unsure what their insurance will cover – but I suspect the insurers will try to weasel out of paying for as much as they can, as they did with Katrina.
The shelves in their garage were totaled – BUT her great-grandmother's china, which was stored there, was saved by a neighbour. Kat and her husband's other belongings will be moved to a storage pod while the garages are torn down and rebuilt.
Meanwhile, there's another hurricane – Milton – forming in the Gulf of Mexico, and looks as if it might barrel right through the Tampa area, adding to their woes. It could scale up to a Class 3 'cane, and might potentially be as damaging as Helene.
Will everybody please hold Kat and her friends and neighbours in your thoughts?
