List the books and/or movies that provoked thinking that lead to a life change or a change in thought processes, and why?

Real simple and just be yourself and state the book title with the author or just the movie title and you don't have to be sexy, flip, or attempt to be funny just post the title andauthor on books and the title on the movie. And no text speak or bs huggle and muah bs.

I'm going to chalk this up partly to me having a RAGING headache and also please note I would rather shoot myself in the foot than huggle anyone, but telling me exactly how I am allowed to post/speak on a public forum is sitting wrong with me right now. Yes, I know I could also choose not to post, but I keep seeing more threads that read like this.

Was a work of fiction yet too many parallels were brought forward in thought of what he put on the page and stuff in the book and outside of it were too close to comfort.

Was a look at how science was used through surgery to cure retardation and other forms of mental illness and was ground breaking in causing thoughts of what Crighton later made mention of in the Terminal Man which process he made mention of is now being used for controlling Epilepsy and Parkinson's Disease.

(Which is sadly now out of print and very hard to find anymore)
Brave New World - Aldous Huxley

Explored the idea of creating a perfect society and a caste system of the mass produced "new humans" in what was called hatcheries which the author a noted biologist took and wrote this book and in a way showing that conformity to all things was desired by the new society. Which might have had some bearing on the film Gattaca. Which also dealt with genetic manipulation to create a conforming and "new breed", as well as a new society.

My copy of the 1900 to 2000 has no spine cover, it's been used so much .... though the new one (below) looks pretty good still!

It's a story set in a concerntration camp during the second world war. A young Jew boy becomes friends with a german officers son.
Anything about the holocast is always thought provoking but this had me in tears.

Sophies choice is another one. I must remember not to wear eye makeup before watching war type films! lol
