There are so many amazing guitarists, many you really don't think of because of their laid back style but put them in a jam band and they go off.

One guy who is very underrated is Mike Campbell who plays with Tom Petty. I saw him play in a club once with a few other guys and he really tore it up.

And another guy no one ever thinks of was Frank Zappa. That man could play!

as much as i like tom petty, i didn't *truly* appreciate mike campbell til i saw TP&tHB live. geeze oh pete.

I love the Damned and especially Smash It Up, but comparing Captain Sensible with all the guys mentioned above is just wrong, LOL!!

All the usual suspects have been named I think but I am going to nominate something left field. This M.O.R classic has one of the best guitar solo's ever, if only because it is so unlike the song but in a weird way seems so natural especially when it kicks in after the Ahhhhs after about 2.30 mins.
