You can find loads of media of two women in sexual situations and it is considered hot but two men in the same or similar situations are rarely seen?

Complicated questions. Tho homophobia can be a simple answer. A second simple answer is child molestation. Theres a number of ways that connects to a desire not to see images of subtle and overt male/male sexuality. Of course when you go to porn hub exr... there lots of images of m/m sexuality.

Wouldn't you rather have a nice cup of tea?

The answer is quite simple: demographics.

According to the most recent studies, Gay and Bi males represent about 7% of the male population, hence about 3.5% of the general population.

And the vast majority of the 90% of the male population will be turned on by lesbian sex (because it involves naked women, to which they are attracted) but turned off by gay sex. And that doesn't make them homophobic. You can accept a person's preferences, or kinks, but be turned off by the idea of watching it. People who are not into, say, BDSM can be turned off by watching such scenes, but it doesn't mean they have anything against people who are into it, for example.

So the porn industry knows it can add lesbian scenes (for which AFAIK the actresses are less well paid than when penetration is involved) in almost all their material without any negative consequence on the final product's success, but that adding gay scenes will restrict the final audience mostly to Gay and Bi, and the small portion of heteros who won't be turned off by it.

Hence why even if they produce media specifically targeted to these audiences, it only represents a small fraction of all porn.

QED.

Because porn is primarily produced by and for (mostly straight) men. Full stop.

Personally, being bi I find both really hot. Although I think there are staggering data-collection errors behind the widely-quoted 5-10% figures, I recognize that I'm in the minority.

You can see this by comparing the Lesbian and Gay Male categories on Lush. I think it's because many straight men enjoy watching 2 girls have sex, but women don't seem to feel the same way about watching 2 men... except me. 😊 I've kinda fallen in love with the Gay Male category and have enjoyed writing stories from a Gay Male POV.

Several good answers! For me, male-male gay sex just doesn't offer much that appeals to me; I'm not repulsed by it, just not interested, which is probably true of most straight males. By the same token, lesbian sex can be enjoyable for a while because I find the female body to be more attractive and sexier, but when it drags on too long - or, worse, it's a pair of bad porn actresses faking 20-minute orgasms far too loudly and poorly - it fails to move me. Genuine, sensual lesbian scenes with real women not made of silicone, hairspray, and makeup can be gorgeous.

On the other hand, an MMF threesome where the males engage in bisexual things and all three players simply enjoy each other can be very arousing, maybe because it's a favorite fantasy.

Women are more appealing to look at and more sensual in their actions

I agree with that.
