I'm having a James Bond Sunday Movie Marathon and I searched the forums and can't find this topic so if I have posted this again I apologise...I'm a huge Connery fan of course but I was wondering which Bond actor you loved and why?
Connery, he was smooth and classy.

I liked Connery as Bond because he was suave, sophisticated, classy, and intelligent, and he did it all with a smile. He wasn't afraid to pat a woman on the butt, either. (No PC )

IMHO, the rest of them seemed forced with bad acting, or too serious/desperate.

Plus, Connery's Bond knew how to deactivate a nuclear device.
Sean Connery is the ONLY James Bond all the others are cheap knock offs sorry to the fans of the other Bonds but hey I know I'm right on this one.

Have to agree, Sean Connery IS James Bond. He proved humor isn't that important. He never told a joke or laughed in any movie and the women didn't mind much.

S
Craig...Until he does a film like Zardoz, then it would be a coin flip.

Anytime honey ;)
Connery. However I have been very impressed with Daniel Craig's performances (if you like him, get out "Defiance", great True story).

My ranking:

1. Connery
2. Craig
3. Brosnan
4. Dalton
5. Moore
6. Lazenby
I've never even seen one with Dalton, Brosnan or even heard of Lazenby.

Lazenby was terrible. Australian actor. Apparently he got turned down for the role of Pinocchio, they said he was too wooden.
I didn't mind Lazenby but I thought Dalton was awful lol
I like Lazenby, and Moore is good too, but I grew up mostly watching Pierce Brosnan, and for me Goldeneye will always be one of the best Bond films ever!
A lot of people don't know that Hugh Jackman was the runner-up to play James Bond when Daniel Craig won the role.

After having had the pleasure of seeing both Craig and Jackman perform together in a play on Broadway last year, I have to say... Jackman's stage presence really steals the spotlight.

I think Daniel Craig is a great choice... but... ummm... I would have drooled to see Hugh Jackman as 007...
I enjoy the old Roger Moore Bond movies. Probably because they were new when I was a kid and they have that nostalgia factor for me. Roger Moore seemed to never get his hair messed up or his clothes dirty.
definitely this man.....
Connery all the way with Craig coming up close behind - Nice one Fritzies!!!

I think the best one is Roger Moore: sophisticated, funny and elegant. The rest are just hitmen, paid mercenaries.

I cant ignore the hypocrisy of Sean Connery, he goes around defending the independece of Scotland, that's shoking from somebody who got famous by doing James Bond movies. Talk about the dog who bites the hand who feeds him.

I agree. Sean Connery comes in a close second for me.
I don't think Sean Connery should even be voted upon...it's like voting on who was the best Superman of all time and including Christopher Reeve; these guys dove into their characters so well and in such a prominent and memorable way that, no matter how the times change, the majority will never feel that anyone after ever measures up.

All that being said, COnnery being the first and best by far, I think out of all the other actors, Craig was/is hands down the best. A very "Batman Begins", real-world take on the character, with just enough of the memorable swagger and charm to elicit nostalgia from audiences without being ridiculous, and just as deadly and dangerous as a government operative is expected to be.
Ok Craig for me was great in Casino Royale but the last movie he was very Bournelike. I know they want to develop the character but he just went about killing everyone and I really didn't enjoy the film.
So, more suave and debonaire Bond with his ladies...and less gun work?

There was only one Bond....Sean Connery. Everyone else was a poor second.

Couldn´t agree more, Connery is the bond. Although out of the modern day bonds, Daniel Craig seems to be doing a good job.
Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan, both were great with a great sense of humour too
Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and of course Daniel. I think Connery and Brosnan very classy James Bonds. Craig its really something new, Bond never been like this, its more then just action movies and some famous James Bond's "toys".
