First car 1968 Pontiac GTO.... Ram Air 4 400ci, 3.90s in a posi, Hurst his ans hers shifter, 113/4 compression and 475hp factory rated at rear wheels
Insurance wouldn't insure me in the 302 2bbl Mustang so I got the Goat with no problems. But my favorite was my 1974 Datsun Z. A C production SCCA race car bought totaled and turned into a street car.
First car was a 1978 Crown Victoria. Something about driving a car older than you are that makes life exciting. All the power options, including a 8 track player{you never know when they might come back} Got it when I was 22 and paid 300.00 for it. It had more miles than the space shuttle but it was a sharp looking car. I looked really out of place driving it, but I didnt care. It was mine.
It blew a transmisson after a couple years....sold it for scrap. I shed a tear when the tow truck took her away.
Mine was a 1978/79 T reg Red Ford Fiesta
My first car was a 1937 Hillman Minx, in grey with red leather seats. Iy had been my Dad's and then my brother's and I had it when I was 19.
Sadly I was an impecunious student at the time, and it needed lots of work done - like new tyres, new brakes, floor needed welding, sunroof leaked.......so it had to go.
But lost of great memories of journeys made, including one when the lights failed. Luckily there was a moon, but the 35 mile drive home was an interesting one - and no police around either.
The first car I owned was a ford escort 3 door. Baby blue, it was not a head turning car but it was mine, that I bought with my own money. My parents always told me you want it you buy it. That way you will treat it better knowing that you had to buy it.
a 1966 green Chevelle 283 4speed,,boy did it look good
1964 VW bug. Had it for many years, until it went into a ditch during an ice storm.
2002 Cadillac Escalade - Pearl White (I know, shocking)
1969 Ford Mustang Mach I with a 429 dbl carb, working blower, 3 speed auto, British racing green, black louvers on rear window, cream/white interior. It was my Dad's, given to me when he passed. Still have it, sitting in the garage. Rebuilt a 69 Pontiac Tempest with a 500 something. My brother and I rebuilt it.
69 SS Camaro, black with orange rally stripe, 396 and would it freaking fly. Got my first speeding ticket on the way HOME from getting my license. Don't let anyone tell you girls don't like to drive fast! Sold my 69 after I started my current job, and because it was in excellent shape, I bought a new 96 Sunfire GT convertible and put 6 grand in the bank. Got rid of that after a few years of marriage for a black Pontiac Solstice, which was....traded in for a new Camaro, black, with an orange rally stripe when the upcoming baby made me get rid of my two seater. We're currently looking at getting the new Buick Encore AWD if I like the looks of it, as AWD in northwest winters isn't a bad thing. I may be a careful and loving mother, but when my daughter's NOT in the car with me, I still push it to it's limits because I looooove to drive fast...
"A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere." - Groucho Marx
1975 ford f100 3 on the tree!!!!
1987 Mazda B2000 pickup truck. Extended cab with a 5 speed manual. Fun packing a bunch of us in to go running around town.
1956 Humber Super Snipe (The Black Beauty) old slow and reliable
'68 Ford Anglia...2 doors.883 cc's ...0-60 in...well I don't know, could never get it to go that fast. Put both front suspension struts through the front wings when I went over a humpback bridge and had to walk 8 miles home....ahhhh, those were the days !
You had to love the ratio gap between second and third in that Anglia. :-)
"There's only three tempos: slow, medium and fast. When you get between in the cracks, ain't nuthin' happenin'." Ben Webster
A 1961 Pontiac Tempest White in color...... Guy ran a Stop light and hit me in the rear quarter panel totaling it
'79 f100 that started out stock and ended with a mildly built 460, 13inches of lift on 44's. Used to love trying to get that thing stuck in the deepest mud holes I could find. Like an idiot I traded it for a '71 torino on mag wheels with a stock 302 and some glasspacks. Blew up the stock 302 after continuously floating the valves from over revving it. Built another 302, blew that doing the same thing. Pop ended up taking it from me and selling it.
