First car---'73 Chevy Nova..it drank a quart of oil each fill up with gas, but with the 350 small block, she would run like a scalded dog!

Fav car---a '69 Camaro with a 327 3/4 racing cam,Holley 4 bbl,turbo 350 tranny,straight pipes with glass packs and posi track.That car would flat out howl!

First car 1968 Pontiac GTO.... Ram Air 4 400ci, 3.90s in a posi, Hurst his ans hers shifter, 113/4 compression and 475hp factory rated at rear wheels

Insurance wouldn't insure me in the 302 2bbl Mustang so I got the Goat with no problems. But my favorite was my 1974 Datsun Z. A C production SCCA race car bought totaled and turned into a street car.

First car was a 1978 Crown Victoria. Something about driving a car older than you are that makes life exciting. All the power options, including a 8 track player{you never know when they might come back} Got it when I was 22 and paid 300.00 for it. It had more miles than the space shuttle but it was a sharp looking car. I looked really out of place driving it, but I didnt care. It was mine.
It blew a transmisson after a couple years....sold it for scrap. I shed a tear when the tow truck took her away.

Mine was a 1978/79 T reg Red Ford Fiesta

My first car was a 1937 Hillman Minx, in grey with red leather seats. Iy had been my Dad's and then my brother's and I had it when I was 19.
Sadly I was an impecunious student at the time, and it needed lots of work done - like new tyres, new brakes, floor needed welding, sunroof leaked.......so it had to go.
But lost of great memories of journeys made, including one when the lights failed. Luckily there was a moon, but the 35 mile drive home was an interesting one - and no police around either.

62 Chevy Impala. Brought it college in 1973. (The girl was an extra option that I couldn't afford at the time.)

The first car I owned was a ford escort 3 door. Baby blue, it was not a head turning car but it was mine, that I bought with my own money. My parents always told me you want it you buy it. That way you will treat it better knowing that you had to buy it.

67 GTO convertible
Used to call it "The Beast"
Had a 421 tri-power that sounded like a Harley at a stop light, and it would pass anything but a gas station
Paid $700 for it in '71 and sold it for $18k in '96

Damn, some of these pictures bring back memories...my best friend in grammar school, had an older brother who had a 67 Goat just like that, except the interior was black, and I believe it was a 389...

Had a Hurst T-shifter and a reverb unit hanging under the dash with the colored lights that pulsed in time to the music...very sixties, but anyway...when the weather was bad, my friend's mom would borrow it and drive us to school in it...

This was third grade, 1969/70...seemed so cool at the time rumbling up to school and getting dropped off in that thing, even if his mom drove it...actually, probably still would come to think of it...

But, I still have a fondness of 67 Goats...even though I never actually owned one...

I'll come back to this thread...I'll try to dig up a picture of my first car, and will have to scan it and all that stuff...classy, but not as much fun perhaps...

You know you want it, you know you need it bad...get it now on Amazon.com...

My first car was a '64 Singer Vogue 1600cc. I bought it off my father for £50 in 1973. Was a good runner, but boy, did it drink petrol. I used to have a gallon can in the boot, just in case of emergencies (which occurred far too frequently)! Once ran out of juice and put the spare gallon in, but only got another 6 miles before it stopped again

1969 Ford Mustang Mach I with a 429 dbl carb, working blower, 3 speed auto, British racing green, black louvers on rear window, cream/white interior. It was my Dad's, given to me when he passed. Still have it, sitting in the garage. Rebuilt a 69 Pontiac Tempest with a 500 something. My brother and I rebuilt it.

69 SS Camaro, black with orange rally stripe, 396 and would it freaking fly. Got my first speeding ticket on the way HOME from getting my license. Don't let anyone tell you girls don't like to drive fast! Sold my 69 after I started my current job, and because it was in excellent shape, I bought a new 96 Sunfire GT convertible and put 6 grand in the bank. Got rid of that after a few years of marriage for a black Pontiac Solstice, which was....traded in for a new Camaro, black, with an orange rally stripe when the upcoming baby made me get rid of my two seater. We're currently looking at getting the new Buick Encore AWD if I like the looks of it, as AWD in northwest winters isn't a bad thing. I may be a careful and loving mother, but when my daughter's NOT in the car with me, I still push it to it's limits because I looooove to drive fast...

71 Mach 1 Mustang. 351 Cleveland, , 4bbl. Fast and fun, but turned corners like a brick. No in car now, but getting ready to build a Factory Five Cobra or Daytona. Thinking Daytona for the.simple safety of a full race cage. Even now, I tend to drive fast enough that my little one yells "faster Daddy!" From the back seat if he top a hill fast enough to get some low g's.

Ooh, ooh, go Factory Five!!! A friend has one and LOVES it! He used a two year old wrecked Vette as his donor car. Heck, even Bill Gates has one!

My first car was a 56 chevy. My dad gave it to me and then helped me fix the body and we repainted it. It was almost a fire engine red, but I loved it. Lots of room in the back seat! smile

'68 Ford Anglia...2 doors.883 cc's ...0-60 in...well I don't know, could never get it to go that fast. Put both front suspension struts through the front wings when I went over a humpback bridge and had to walk 8 miles home....ahhhh, those were the days !
Active Ink Slinger
You had to love the ratio gap between second and third in that Anglia. :-)

A 1961 Pontiac Tempest White in color...... Guy ran a Stop light and hit me in the rear quarter panel totaling it

It was a 1966 Plymouth Fury III, 318 A engine, 2bbl carb and a back seat made for drive in movies. Alas I was too shy to take a girl to the drive in while I owned the car.

A '66 Fury sort of like mine

'79 f100 that started out stock and ended with a mildly built 460, 13inches of lift on 44's. Used to love trying to get that thing stuck in the deepest mud holes I could find. Like an idiot I traded it for a '71 torino on mag wheels with a stock 302 and some glasspacks. Blew up the stock 302 after continuously floating the valves from over revving it. Built another 302, blew that doing the same thing. Pop ended up taking it from me and selling it.
