Do many of the writers here use Twitter?

If you have a Twitter account ... do you post your stories (links to here) on there regularly?

How do you use your Twitter and Tweets?
I have to be honest. I have never even looked at Twitter.
I have an account for my writing. It leads to my blog which then links back to my profile here. I've found it to be a handy way to keep in touch with what's going on regarding publishers and calls for submissions. It's also a good way to meet published writers.
I use twitterfeed to auto-tweet new stories on the site, to help promote our authors.

https://twitter.com/#!/lushstories

I also use it to automatically tweet active forum topics.

The other excellent use of twitter, is to network. In the hope of attracting publishers here, who will hopefully take some of you on, I have also befriended every publishing house I can think of.

It's an excellent site to network on, and I highly recommend people sign up and tweet yourselves up! You can link back to your lushstories.com profile page, or any other URL you want - personal blog etc.
I found an excellent tool to help manage your followers / who to follow - it's semi-automated: tweepi.
I have not been on Twitter very long ... but I am AMAZED at who is all on there and what goes on. I am following 3 people who Twitter a crazy love triangle. It's hilarious.

But on a serious note, I have a couple of writers start to follow me.

And even Dancing_Doll (our illustrious famous Alpha Blonde) ... I follow her and she follows me!

I do not have a twitter. a lot of my friends tweet. many even have a button they push when they get to a place and it alerts the entire world were they are. it seems creepy to me. I don't need everyone knowing where I am. it also geotags there tweets. again if I tweet something I don't want people knowing were I was when I tweeted it necessarily. the whole thing seems pretty tweeting crazy!
I am on Twitter, but have not really been using it much because frankly I have not had much to really promote...

I have a short story coming out in a Christmas anthology soon to be released on Dancing With Bear Publishing...it should be in print soon, just in time for holiday gift giving I might add...

The story His Christmas Wish is actually the first 3300 words of my story "Her Christmas Wish" which I wrote for the holiday contest here on Lush in December, 2010...
http://www.lushstories.com/stories/love-stories/her-christmas-wish.aspx

I purposely wrote the story in that way, with a long lead in before the sex so that the beginning could be posted as a non-erotic story in itself...this was shortly after the blue site was announced, btw...and "His Christmas Wish" posted there the day before my contest story posted here...

I am so glad I did it that way, btw...this is the first time I will actually be getting a percentage of sales on anything I have published...

So...I will actually be having a real use for Twitter soon, and have been trying to build up my following...

Anyone who wants to follow me, by all means, feel free...don't know where it will lead, but hey...you never know...

I can be followed on Twitter: @Exakta66

Cheers,
Alan.

You know you want it, you know you need it bad...get it now on Amazon.com...

Yeah, I've been doing the same thing...everyone on my Twitter lists is either an author, publisher, site owner, or in some way involved in the writing world...

Someone started a thread in one of the LinkedIn writing groups where people post their Twitter name and they follow each other...I've added quite a few authors recently through that, and I still haven't got through the whole list...

But, I'm working on it...take my word on that one...

I don't twitter because frankly my life isn't interesting enough to update whats going on with me every 2 minutes.

Congrats to you thats HUGE!
I've had Twitter for nearly 2 years but only really started using it about 7-8months ago.

Strangely enough, not any of my friends or family really know about. Guess sometimes its my place to rant if they are doing stupidity. I'm very opinionated a lot of the time I have to curb that. I turn off the geo-tagging feature and I don't believe in tweeting everything about my life. Sometimes less is more.

I have my geo-tag off ... and I don't tweet that I am leaving the country or where I am going (dinner/groceries/walk). But it is pretty cool how you can network, for sure!!
i havea twitter. im obsessed with it. its alot more fun then facbook and i its on my phone so i tweet all the time.
I tried to follow people... but everything went by way too fast... could not keep up.
Also, if there is something really worth reading on twitter, some news outlet will pick it up soon enough and ill read it there.
So i don't see the need to have one.

well ...... Twitter is great for another thing, which is the private messages.

You can have friends all around the world, and message via your mobile (with a data plan) that is private like txting / instant messagings. With that being said ... you don't give up your cell number!

Kinda cool if you ask me!!

that gives me ideas... interesting.
As Yahtzee said, I do have twitter... I don't always use it that regularly but sometimes I get more into it than others. I tweet random things, my writing, and blog posts.

I use it professionally (following/networking with writers/publishers) but also personally, tweeting about things that interest me outside of the erotica world.

I do follow-back if the person seems legit and not a tweet-bot or a total creeper.

I enjoy following the celebs, pornstars, sportsguys and interesting personalities out in twitterville. I've some 'interesting' experiences come out of it... lol

@AshleighLake
I'm on twitter, use it as a social tool but also for networking. I've been fortunate to have had some replies from people quite high up the ladder in the area I'm trying to break into. I've also had replies from celebs (verified accounts) I'm not gonna name names but some are A-Listers and if you get a reply from them, it always feels that bit more special because they have millions of followers and must get bombarded with tweets constantly.
I do have a twitter account, but I've abandoned it because I'm not too sure how to use it. I know it sounds weird, but it just flummoxes me, even though there really should be no flum.
No twitter, no Tweet, no Facebook...only 3 forums.
Rarely do I chat.
I use my Twitter page to send links of my writings out and to discover other writers.
