Sometimes I wonder if there's a relation between the IQ of people and their sexual lives. Has IQ any say in stuff like promiscuity, monogamy, a tendency to fetishes, roleplaying, etc?
According to this study it does: smarter people have less sex, acording to the findings of Tyler Cowen, an American economist.
He says that testosterone and IQ dont match very well. It sucks, I know.
But I see a flaw on this theory: doing is not the same as thinking. Perhaps those smart guys who were tested who dont usually have sex, spend the whole day thinking about it? They are members of the 5 Guys Club?

I don't think they have less testosterone than 'normal' guys it is just that they set there prioritize dierently.. Maybe it is just one thing; these smart guys don't have time to exercise as much as other men who know that they can get laid (only)with looks (or maybe with money ). Exercise brings up libido.

Hey Alan, that was great read! I never thought about testosteron in this scientific view and I've never read about it too. Some of it make sense and some of it scientists will change in few years.

Ultimately I’m not sure why smarter people end up getting less sex. I suspect some of it has to do with being told they are less sexually desirable, either directly by reducing their pool of sexual partners or indirectly by reducing their confidence. But it could also be that most sex is the result of bad judgment (drunk party sex) or girls being pressured into sex and smart girls/guys are less susceptible to these things. It could be a lot of things but right now we don’t have much hard evidence for any of them.
I thought this was interesting.

If you allow for the fact that an intelligent man and a man of less ability would be equal on physical appeal.. then based on intelligence only.. he would get less sex because he is less spontaneous.. he tends to plot out circumstances prior to enacting them.. and he knows the best sex always starts and ends in the mind..
