King's Cross and the first train North.
In the world's harsh wear and tear many a very sincere attachment is slowly obliterated.
Είμαι ταξιδιώτης τόσο στο χρόνο όσο και στο διάστημα
I think the attraction is for everyone outside of the uk.
The only reason I'd choose to go anywhere near is Katie!
Take the river taxi from Embankment to Greenwich, mooch around, then return by DLR.
Not sure really but the planes seem awfully attracted to the place. Once at the airport though there're all sorts of ways to get out of the there.
In London itself, I'd be looking at the art galleries and museums. I did like Westminster abbey (not on the list). If you're going to waste good architecture on churches, and let's face it, that's where most of it goes, then make it gothic in style I reckon. There was also something almost spiritual about walking over Newtons tomb, as ironic as that may sound, not to mention Robert Hooke and Darwin amongst others. Weird because I normally find burial sites as somewhat , well, dead and don't value symbols normally.
for me the attraction is so many touristy sites in close proximity.
Been many times and just about seen the lot. It's not a patch on Edinburgh. The people are much nicer there and it's a much safer place to be as well.
“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”
a nice girl called Hannah lives somewhere around there. not for sex or anything. just like... coffee, y'know? by all accounts, she's a delight. though she does own a lot of very fancy knives so don't get funny with her.
Its not on your list, but I love to spend the day wandering around Hyde Park
I'd vote for the British Museum over all the other choices. But then on my way to the Isle of Lewis (half my family is from there, the other half from Herefordshire - but a long time ago).
I really enjoy walking around large, historic cities. In London it was particularly pleasing to stroll around the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. The Victoria Tower Gardens, outside Parliament, have a marvelous cast of Rodin's Burghers of Calais. So wonderful.
So much history, great little markets, beautiful architecture, fantastic people. I loved it. I'd go back in a heart beat
Truthfully, the appeal of London, to me, is no different than most places in Europe. The history, the architecture, the art, and the food are all of the variety that would pique my wanderlust. I wouldn't single out London as my number one destination but I wouldn't scoff at it either. However, when I think of London I think of Big Ben so that would be first on my list of sights to see (after doing the typical tourist Abbey Road thing because why the hell not).
I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?
