clearly not everyone #magicalfelix LOL

although @magicalfelix I can understand it cant always be easy to have 400+ freshman come in everyday. #lushstories.com gets so many new members everyday

I know right? These damn freshman are hella annoying! We need to have cyber trash cans lying around so we can dump them in after I give them a cyber wedgie. Fuck them...

LOL... I seriously think we should make a 'pubic-hair' and 'cock size' thread sticky at the top of the Ask the Girls forum. That's a great idea!

Or maybe it should be in the welcome package.

Can anybody say that a newbie has been crucufied for being a newbie? I think not. However the ignorant, stupid, insipid posters well lets just say some folks do enjoy shooting fish in a barrel.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

such a ridiculous thread!

NO I have seen ridiculous... this one was well meaning.

Take a trip through any one of the catagories here in the forums and look for the locked down threads.
Some of them are downright stupid and way beyond ridiculous.

I think reading comprehension is highly overlooked these days in schools.
It clearly states that there are rules and regulations to posting in the forums, unfortunately not many newbies read them.
I find myself shaking my head at some of the things people will post in here. And then they wonder why they got a slap on the wrist or an outright ban over it. The butthurt ones are comical actually.

I took my time wandering around and checking things out before jumping in and posting.
I still veer away from some topics, as I might get overheated on the subject and start foaming at the mouth.
Hopefully, I have contributed to the forums. Sometimes I'll poke fun at the regulars and sometimes I'll answer legitimately. But the odd occasion I've been known to be snarky and hateful and I feel shame and regret after I do it.

Its a decent resolution, and if anything its a reminder to at least show respect for others and their ideas.
Even if it means gently reminding them where the rules of posting are.

We are all entitled to our opinion. We're just not entitled to make someone feel like crap because we don't happen to agree with them.

Now enough rambling from me. I have to go hunt down Dudealicious and make fun of him again. He's funny when he pouts.

Good post, TDW. smile

Most people post in the forum without an agenda, but that's not true of everyone, unfortunately. All we can do is be positive, use our brains, and hope others do the same. Pay the phonies and the instigators no mind.

I'm all for being nice, but it's really irritating when the first question a guy posts is about how big I like cocks to be. How about searching, and how about not being an obvious ass?

I have been a member of a few different forums over the past 10 years from sports to photography (photography forums are the worst. Everyone knows fuckin everything and they always know more than you even if its not the case). I was a mod on a couple as well and was constantly reminding people to take it easy. It comes with the territory. The same things happen on all forums. Not searching for a similar topic before starting a new one, someone getting high and mighty about the smallest things because they can tell someone what they think with out getting punched out. We all figure it out eventually. Nice post by the OP..and im a newbe too, so scream politely at me...please

Well put LM. As a two time joiner I've been on both the giving and receiving ends. More tolerance is proper and appreciated by newbies.

MY point is that one should always have manners. Why does the "oldie" have to be put out a thread to remind their cohorts that they were once newbies too, and show some kindness?? That is what is ridiculous.

I think at the front door of Lush's Forum, it should be recognized and understood that one is to try to be kind (and funny and kid each other) and that the Forum is not a "free-for-all".

Thanks for listening!

Has anyone noticed that the forum has been a little slow lately? I've been thinking about it and thought that maybe the problem is with us. The "regulars" in the forum. Could it be that "we" are a little too tough on newbies? Are we clique-ish? Could we be a little more understanding of newcomers who don't yet understand how Lush and the forum works? Weren't we all rookies here at one point? I'm not pointing any finger at anyone specifically. Except myself as I've surely been not so nice before.

Yes, there's been dozens of threads on cock size, swallowing, blowjobs, anal sex,....... If some 18yr old newbie starts a tired thread, we can let it slide can't we? I doubt all newbies are aware of or know how to accurately do a forum search. That kid may be way naive and Lush could prove to be a great learning place for him/her. Unless we scare him/her off.

If someone has just a handful of forum posts and says something inappropriate or disrespectful or breaks some other written or unwritten forum rule, maybe we can let it slide and give him/her a grace period learning curve?

If a new person posts in one of the Word Games threads with something very sexual, it's really ok. In the "Would you fuck... the person above you" type thread, a new guy may post, "Yea, I'd fuck the shit out of that pussy." So what, he's new. He may not know the proper decorum that's expected. Can we not point it out in a NICE way? And by the way, if you post in one of the Word Game threads, you are opening yourself up to whoever wants to post beneath you. If you don't want to be "hit" on in a sex games thread, don't post there.

Let's remember that not everyone has English as a first language. If someone posts in with broken English, we don't have to call him out on it. Usually you can tell the difference between a dumbass and someone whose words are just out of sync.

Maybe if we made the forum a more welcoming place things would pick up. I'm guilty of all the things I mentioned above. My Lush resolution is to see that things get back to the "good ol' times" here.

edit... trolls are easy to spot, when one appears he should be dealt with accordingly

Just a quick question LM.... What is the correct decorum when responding to this Forum question?

Whilst I agree with the sentiment and the general direction of the thread - after all we were all newbies once and had to feel our way round the forum decorum. I have to say like all good things in life - you also have to contribute and be part of the larger Lush 'family'. I suspect why the 'older' hands get on so well and connect with each other is because they have put in the time, effort and mutual respect that makes Lush work. I have noticed a large number of so called newbies who seem to be just doing the numbers game - tosee how many friends, posts they can make etc without even the common courtesy of giving some basic details about themselves.

We warmly welcome all new members to the forum and hope in return they contribute to the bigger 'Lush' family!

Just an opinion

There appears to be two threads running on very similar themes but the point being is that there is a perception that the 'older' hands are giving the newbies a tough time of it. I know that the moderators have been asked to back off a little, so therefore please read above and below:

Thank you Mazza Curly and Dancing Doll - I suspect that we are all going off thread but the point is clearly made - we welcome and embrace all newbies (more the merrier) - all that we ask is that they play a positive and active part of this community. The fact that 'older' memebers seem to group together is that they have worked at being part of Lush. You are more than welcome to become a part of that.

I would like to say thank you to those who have welcomed me or replied to me - either in threads of by PM.

Lush can be an incredibly intimidating place (okay, it is, for me), for various reasons. I'm one of those people who lives in their own little world, and posts because something makes them giggle or genuinely would like to say something (and if it amuses or contributes to those reading it, that's a massive bonus).

But what I have valued most is those who PMd me to welcome me and encourage me, because the forum, like all other forums, has its own little climate and community, which is natural. Like a village or town, sometimes, newcomers feel it easier to be invited for a cup of tea to start off with, as opposed to a boogie at the local nightclub.

Sorry, I've just confuddled myself with my own analogy. But what I'm trying to say is, it never hurts to remind ourselves of how we treat others, on the internet or real life, and I am grateful to those who have welcomed me here. Ta.
Ut incepit fidelis, sic permanet.

<----- Post number...?

I have to say that tend to agree with the general idea of this thread. But it's just like me to take the high road....

But, if anyone just absolutely can't contain their self, I will be happy to swim circles for a bit. But be warned, I have a memory like an elephant so don't aim at anything I really need or use often or you'll be "footless" yourself once I hit 100 posts...maybe worse. ;-)

Happy to be here....yes. Thanks.
...and I meant almost every single word of it.

Having just joined today, I fully approve of the idea of being nice to noobs. I'd also like to suggest that you not immediately invite a noob to chat. I've been here ten minutes and I've already received six or seven requests to chat. It's annoying. *steels herself for backlash from veteran members*
