it's pretty fucking meaningless if we're honest with ourselves.

Life is like a stew pot, what you get out of it depends on what you put in it.
Be positive, encourage those around you to be kinder to each other, do one small thing every day to make things slightly better for someone else. Do that and when you look back over your life there's a whole lot of lives you changed for the better.

I put a little banner in here, it might change. I'm still messing about with it.

Its not meaningless ..Not knowing who you are can be an adventure depending on how you look at it.

It's very cloudy up - in my mind, lol .. so dark and broody. It's shattering when I wake up not knowing what to feel .. but this is just me :P

Thank you so much, Vanessa, for your support and with everything. I cannot thank you enough for your wholesome support and kind words. Giving you a huggitty hugs! heart

... This past year has also put a strain on my relationship with my younger son. He has made me feel like I've failed him in some way. ...

Are you his birth mother, because if you are, and if you did the customary raising prodigy until they are capable of sassing you back, without him being a mass murderer, you've likely done your job. You have not failed.

I have my own issues between the ears. I have my battles with depression and rage.
Somedays it's a fight to get out of bed, throw myself into the shower, or make myself eat something.

It can be hard to resist the urge to twist the head off the person who annoys me like a bottle top and kick their twitching corpse across the room.

Sometimes I spend hours staring into space painting an endless repeating pattern with my eyes.
It's not always intentional either, and can be very frustrating when you'd much rather finish that report or go to the bathroom but get trapped in the loop unable to escape.

There are a lot of people out there that put up a good mask that they're feeling ok, when just under the skin they're screaming silently at the world wishing it would just stop but unable to make a sound or change the way their mind works.

Don't beat yourself up for not waking up feeling like a Paladin ready to lop the heads off dragons. At least for not feeling like it every single morning.

Be gentle with yourself, be kind to yourself. There's a part of me that delights in ripping open old wounds and pressing its fingers in the bloody holes just because it knows it makes me twitch like a puppet that has its strings pulled violently.
If you're gentle with yourself, kind to yourself, able to admit if only to yourself that this is not the way to treat yourself; it can take the sting out of those moments. The kinder you are to yourself the more you repair the wounds the world or even your own self destructive instincts inflict on yourself.

So when you really can't think of what to do, or what to feel, chose something that makes you smile.
Have a hot chocolate for breakfast, or dance around to some truly silly music from your youth.
Accept that you can't change who you are, or how you're made.
All you can chose is how to treat yourself and the way you respond when the world pokes into your mind.

There is only one of you in existence, you're the rarest thing there is. So learn to treasure yourself and the people who see that quality in you. The others, well they can kiss your boot treads.

I enjoy every aspect and decision (good or bad) that I have taken in my life and I create meaning for my life to survive, but if you ask me what are we really doing, I think everything looses meaning.

I often think it is to find meaning rather than pondering over the past. Life is meant to create a future.

Meaningless? You've got to be kidding! I realize that life isn't equitable for everyone; as a matter of fact, in all the important things in life, we don't get a choice beginning with the bookends of life. No one asks our pre-born person whether or not we want to born or not - our parents made that decision for us. Once born, we don't get a choice about the other bookend of life - death. Without exception, all persons who are born will, at some point, die. That said.....

Everyone finds meaning life in life differently. Repeating what I said above, life isn't equitable. That said.....

I find extreme happiness and pleasure in being a mom

I find extreme happiness and pleasure in being a wife

I've been blessed in so many things in life. Life for me is far from meaningless.

Nobody's life is meaningless. Sometimes we have to find a purpose but it will be there somewhere. In my case I spent 30 odd years working in education, making a small contribution to our culture continuing. Now I entertain people by writing erotica. Insignificant on the cosmic scale but it makes me happy.

Agree wholeheartedly, John. Most of us will never make a worldwide impact or even a national impact. But we all can make an impact beginning with our children. Well said, John. I love your comment about not making an impact on the cosmic scale. I don't know if humanity is alone in the universe or not and, in all reality, it really doesn't matter. Humanity exists on a small, insignificant planet orbiting a rather insignificant star in one of the hundreds of billions - if not trillions - of galaxies in the observable and perhaps unobservable or unseen universe(s). On the cosmic scale, nothing we do or don't do will ever have a cosmic impact if, for no other reason, the universe existed before our star came into existence and will continue long after our star - and our solar system - dies.

Aye, the cosmos is vast, beyond our capacity to comprehend.
