Does anyone agree with me that Elvis Presley was just an over rated pub singer who happened to be in the right place at the right time. He's dead, get over it.S82ffCewdjOMpKdh

I disagree. He made some awesome songs and was perhaps the first modern pop idol.

I disagree too, and agree with Noll above me, Elvis had some awesome and also some beautiful songs, he is legendary.
I totally disagree with ledlizzy55. Elvis is the KING. I believe his record, 8track, cassette, and CD sales way back when and now speak for them selves.
You say he is dead. So are many many other singer / musicians and millions of people still buy and listen to their music.
There are probably more Elvis impersonators on tour with paying gigs than all the other artist put together.
In fact I don't remember seeing any other successful stand alone impersonators. Seen a few really good ones over the years. Several in Vegas.
If you don't like him change the station or don't buy his recordings.

Do you still listen to the Beetles?

Elvis is The King!
He is what he is and was. The right place and the right time only happens when someone LEGENDARY comes along to make that happen.
Elvis is the King always has been ,always will be. And proud to say I had the honor of being born on his Birthday..Elvis's memory and music will live on forever...
Elvis was the original, the master, the King!
The KING. The BEST. No other solo artist has ever sold as many records as Elvis.

Elvis was incredible and deserves every bit of fame that he recieved.
However, had Buddy Holly not died in that plane crash, we would be calling him 'the King' and Elvis just Elvis. Would be cool to see what Ritchie Valens would have accomplished as well.
I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?
okay here is my take, for a few reasons i have a lot to say about Elvis, my brother is a huge Elvis fan.
i was born in the 80's but have always been told I'm a 50's child born too late.
for the time 50's 60's Elvis was run of the mill. he had to contend with great crooners of the time. frank Sinatra dean martin Louise Armstrong and many other. in that sense he wasn't as good as many (or my brother) says. BUT. there is no denying he was class. he was a great musician and 52 albums do not lie.
