I don't care much for salad dressing that is sweet, so am not a fan of French, balsamic, and many bottled dressings. They are almost always sweet -- especially the lower calorie ones. I do like blue cheese; a light oil and wine vinegar; and the lemon dressing that is used on Shirazi salad found at Persian restaurants.

Just curious about others, so I thought I would start a thread about it.

Ceaser is my favourite. When I visited the US they had a brand called Ken's Creamy Ceaser which was delicious. You can't buy it in the UK. The nearest I can get is Hellmans, but it's nowhere near as good.

There are two which I found last year in Waitrose but I think some of the other big supermarkets stock them now. The make is Briannas. There is a Blue Cheese one and the other is Ginger Mandarin but as the bottle states it tastes like Hoisin/Plum sauce. Both are just heaven.

They also do a Ranch and Honey Mustard but I havent tried those.

Lol I have a salad and think well done John thats healthy and then I pour half a gallon of dressing on!.

i grew up eating french and ranch. as soon as i had my say, i ditched both. when at a restaurant, i typically have their 'house dressing', since it's usually just a vinaigrette. however, my favorite are the sesame, or ginger, dressings i have at asian restaurants. kraft also makes an asian sesame dressing i enjoy.

Say. Her. Name.

I love the dressing on fattoush salad...lemon juice, olive oil, sumac. And on guacamole salad...lime juice, crushed garlic, red wine vinegar, red pepper. It has to be fresh not bottled, and light...not thick or heavy.

I'm a big salad fanatic and make my own dressings! I have a vinaigrette cookbook and also love to discover new recipes from online sources. This is often much healthier than buying dressings off the shelf, and it's actually a lot more fun. You can even fully customize your recipes.

My favorites tend to be those based on vegetable oils and balsamic vinegar. I'm not a huge fan of the creamy dressings.

I make my own. There are variations on a theme, but my go to is:

Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Cider vinegar
Wholegrain mustard
salt and pepper

Does the job! smile
