Apparently the Pineapple pizza was created by Sam Panopolous a Greek immigrant to Canada in 1962.
Growing up, it was always the second most common pizza type after pepperoni. I just did a bit of research and apparently it's quite popular in Australia and the UK.
It's also apparent that it's hated in the US. Jimmy Kimmel has made a big deal about it. But come on... everyone from New York hates everything from everywhere else.
But let's address this... You are judging a topping and not the entire pizza. Nobody would simply toss pineapple onto a pepperoni pizza. It only works when combined with certain flavors.
Ham and pineapple is a classic flavor combination. I don't really like fruit and meat but this kind of works.
So adding it to a pizza is a reasonable step.
I like green olives but I hate green olives on pizza. Because that flavor profile doesn't work.
For the people that say no.... How many have actually tried it?

Bacon, pineapple, cheese, and a smoky barbecue sauce. It's great.
BBQ sauce on Hawaiian? Hmm. I've largely avoided Panago so far (I mostly get my pizza from local joints, not chains, these days) but this might be worth a try.
Quote by Cyndy Put anything you like on a pizza! Enjoy it and treat yourself how ever you like. Personally I prefer cheese only pizzas, but it doesn't matter to me what people put on their pizza as long as they eat it. I will eat a piece of meat and pineapple pizza, or a fully loaded vegetarian pizza. Change it up. Enjoy different tastes. Olives one time, marinated artichoke hearts the next. If you like it.... do it!
Cheese only? Is your favorite position missionary? Is your favorite ice cream vanilla?
