looks like an antique colander, typically used for berries or fruit in the day. Is there anything stamped on the bottom? Could be worth anywhere from about $50 to $1000 depending on age, who made it etc.

No, there's no mark on the bottom. It's quite nicely hand painted though. I imagine there would have been a plate to go with it to catch the water. I've never seen anything like it before. A nice addition to my kitchen.
