I am an excellent cook, but one thing confounds me… boiling eggs! Does anyone have a method that works?

There's a Heston Blumenthal "recipe" somewhere, and I think he said the secret is to put the eggs into water that is on the stove and already boiling, and then to turn the heat off.

Okay, this isn't where I saw it previously, but says basically what I wrote above: https://www.sbs.com.au/food/recipe/heston-blumenthals-soft-boiled-eggs/jmxs728py (I've tried the method and it works perfectly; it's almost as though that Heston knows something about cooking, or something)

けゃんこ鍋 - Chanko Nabe (Sumo Stew)

A deeply satisfying meal. I reserve it for those times I've been a very clever and deserve a reward.
