If a moderator edits or moves a verified story to a different category, it shouldn't then be seen as unverified. I've asked Gav to see what's possible to stop this happening.

Actually, I did it that way on purpose and asked the other story verifiers to follow suit, so the authors of the stories being moved would receive notice of the pending category change. The only stories that retained an "unverified" status for more than a minute or two were those few with which we found problems that warranted further review. All the rest were re-verified straightaway in the new category.

We *could* have just moved them without telling anyone, but I know if my story were being moved, I'd appreciate knowing why and to which category. We've moved several stories and have had, as far as I know, just the one complaint. Most of the writers here want people who are interested in the subject they write about to be able to find their work.

I don't know you, but you seem awesome.

I think what Lush really needs is an instructional video on the use of the site.

Jolly good idea Alan, volunteering?

Maybe there should be a delay of a week for people to create a new account after they deleted their account.

I know, we should have an export option. Export your whole profile and carry it around on a usb stick. When you feel the urge to rejoin, simply import your profile.
/joke

Hey Gav...I would certainly be willing to volunteer to do the video, assuming there are sufficient female volunteers...I am certainly open to that...anything to help the cause...

Regarding the account deletion thingy...would there be any way to store the account on the server for a period of time? I think most people who delete there accounts after someone looks at them wrong in a chat room, or had too much tequila, or whatever are not going to go through the trouble of backing up their profile...

Then when they sober up the next day, or take their meds or whatever, it will be available again...

I mean, I personally don't care if someone wants to delete their account every day and re-join...whatever floats your boat, so to speak...but, when there are stories involved I think it becomes more of an issue that should be addressed. I have people on my friends list who have deleted their accounts and returned more than once...

Nicola has made it clear in another forum post, that she does not want the same stories re-submitted when someone gets back to reality and returns to the site. I can fully understand this...
The thing is, Lush has lost some very good stories because people have had a rough day or whatever and deleted their accounts...

If you look under "Competitions" on the front page, you will see there is no first place winner listed in the first Lush story competition...
I can think of plenty more examples on the site...

I personally can think of no good reason why any sane, sober individual would need to delete their whole account when Lush offers so many account options, such as deleting pictures, changing birth dates, deleting individual stories...even changing screen name on request...

I just think it's an issue that really needs to be addressed more...

You know you want it, you know you need it bad...get it now on Amazon.com...

That's not very polite Mr Barclay! She was 100% correct, it should have been put in the right category at the beginning.

However, it's a design fail on our side.

Seems like that could have been handled privately. Bundle of joy you are, LOL.

Which do you think is easier, to donate time and effort to make the site as good as it can be? Or take personal shots publicly at those that do?

Im sorry ..and just how does this effect you

stories go in the category. That is Lush Stories site policy; put on your big boy pants and deal with it.

Oh, and the Moderator in question is anything but an idiot. People who don't categorise their stories properly, however...

Thank you, Gypsy.

Let's see, the story in question had sex between a mother and son, aunt and nephew, aunt and niece...and that's as far as I got. Does anyone besides the writer who posted it in the wrong category to begin with think it doesn't belong in ?

Oh, and Mr. Barclay? It's common for different parts of a story to be posted in different categories, depending on the content of each section. But I'd be happy to move Chapter 1 to as well, so the two parts are posted in the same category. The implication is certainly present, though it's not stated outright.

Absolute nonsense but I have saved you getting more verbal ... I have deleted both parts of the story
carry on being an irritant
No need to apologize.

It affects the whole site when somebody drops in and only contributes negatively to it. It's not necessary to insult anybody, yet you clearly enjoy doing so, both in comments on stories and to members, and now also to moderators.

Maybe it's the rest of us that should apologize. I can't imagine the hurt you must have experienced by having your story moved by evil-doing lush volunteers. How dare they, with their valid reasons and all? So, I'm sorry, DBarclay. How dare I suggest you not act like a baby and complain publicly instead of just sending a PM, which would take the same amount of time, and would spare us your attitude.

What is your point, ever, other than to complain and disparage?

There are a lot of people that find disgusting, and it's important that stories are tagged correctly and put in the right category.

We have over a thousand authors who are happy to tag their stories correctly, and submit them to the right category.

The way you talked about one of our volunteer editors was despicable. If you can't remain civil, feel free to delete all your stories and move on.

That isn't very nice! I give my time and effort into this site just as much, if not more so, because I sit and verify stories and moderate the chat rooms. Story Verifiers make sure that your story gets posted onto the site and it isn't polite to down them because you are irritated your story was moved into a different section. What if I don't like and I get into it because it is in the wrong section. It improves the site and makes it better as a whole; it makes it more enjoyable to others.

~ "She left the web, she left the loom,
She made three paces through the room,
She saw the water-lily bloom,
She saw the helmet and the plume,
She look'd down to Camelot.
Out flew the web and floated wide;
The mirror crack'd from side to side;
"The curse is come upon me," cried
The Lady of Shalott. "

i think, DB, what everyone here is tip-toeing around in an effort to be nice can be summed up in a pithy little statement: Stop being an ass.

yes, we all get a little bent out of shape at times at mods for this or that, i've been there too - that said, these are people who have volenteered their time, don't get a lot of thanks, do a butt-load of work, and to come in and abuse them because you're not happy with being treated like everyone else is just insulting. i'm sure the mods are insulted by it, and i know i am. if you don't want to play by the rules, then you should go somewhere else where the rules are more to your liking.

Nic didn't just arbitarily decide to make things difficult for you - there are reasons for submission rules, such as keeping the site open. i would prefer not to jeopardize a site that i have come to care very much about simply so you can get your own way after throwing your little snit - really, what does it matter what catagory your stories fall under? they've been published, they will be read. isn't that the whole point? is you don't want them catagoriezed under , don't fucking right stories that have in them. capice?

and please, feel free to come back at me with as much venom and spite as you can muster. if it will save my beloved mods from having to deal with your attitude, i'll welcome it.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I wish there was a like button to like comments and forum posts. That would be outstanding. ^^

I've suggested that before as well. But I've been told the forums will not be worked on.
Thousands of user submitted stories removed from the site. You are nothing without your users or their freely submitted stories.
Perhaps this is silly, but then again maybe not.

It is nice to have a qualifier under our profiles that tells everyone else if you are single, married, or a slut; yet why not a qualifier that depicts your sexual orientation?

Gay

gay usuall refers to the male population, Nic - i would suggest adding Lesbian to the list as well... umm... Asexual also comes to mind, but that's just me being silly, i suppose...

What about something like "Not Interested", "Open-Minded", "Curious"?

Not interested being; one is not interested in cybering, just conversations or here for other reasons than to meet people.

Open-Minded/Curious as being you are not bi/gay/lesbian, but are curious about it all and might be interested in playing.
Living life and enjoying life are two different things... just need to figure out how to do both at the same time to live it right!

Woman... GO FLY A KITE!!!!! Take a slideshow walk with me on a walk through the parks of Inner Mongolia, China. Then enjoy the tale of a very traditional day in the life of a white Woman in China.

This is a great site, and most "improvements" will be tweaks - and that's the way it should be. So, here are my two "tweak" suggestions:
1. The gender of the author could be displayed by the avatar in the new stories list (not all avatars give a clue about gender and I dare say I am not alone in preferring a certain gender of author)
2. Maybe the profile section could have a "Sexual activities enjoyed" section - this would give readers a greater insight into the mindset of the author. This could be implemented as a tickbox selection - I could provide a candidate list if required

In the meantime - its a brilliant site

I doubt many asexuals would actually be visiting a sex site, by definition.

I have just added the sexual orientation option to your personal details settings page. This will appear on your profile and the member search page.
I would like to see max number of members allowed in a chat room at the same time be reduced to 20. all members over that would be moved to room #2 like now. it would be easier to track the chat i'm involved in as well as result in two more equally populated rooms. my two cents. thanks,
