Proposal for a new story category

I was perusing the various story categories and found that there really isn't one that includes breasts. The oral sex category specifically excludes breast manipulation from it. I thought it might be nice to have a story category that focuses on female and male breasts (yeah, men like breast manipulation as much as women I think). Just a thought. I have a story in mind for such a category if it ever appears.

the omni badge people are gonna send you hate mail, you know. lol other than that , let's see what kind of response this gets and maybe we'll talk about it. smile

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

The omnium and prolific writer badge holders didn't get them by not writing! I would suspect they would lapping at the opportunity to write another story!

Thanks Sprite for the optimistic response. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I have Sprite. Their complaint really shouldn't be a complaint, at least in my opinion. Once you earn a badge meeting the qualifications in place at the time you earned it, you should keep it. Plain and simple. It would be like changing the famous story numbers from 30,000 to 100,000 stories. If the Lush leadership decided such a change is needed and would be appropriate, I would think it would only be fair to exisiting badge holders to keep it while putting in place the new standards for new badges. I have no doubt that Gav, if choose to do so, could write the program to ensue that link between badge requirements and badge awards apply only to badges pending. Once the badge is posted to the writer, there could be and should be no further link.

that's Nicki's call, not mine - i KNOW! I don't make ALL the decisions here, but it's true. that said, i've bumped her on this thread, tho she won't see it until tomorrow - damn time zones.

Thanks Sprite. I really am not trying to stir up the fires here. Just a humble suggestion.

Do many stories focus on breast manipulation enough to qualify for this category? Not questioning the suggestion, just wondering out loud. As a "boob man", I am quite certain that I would write for it at some point if it existed. Would lactation be included in this category, since that's a kink for some (been there, done that, wasn't that sexy even given that I am a boob man)?

So put me as a +1 and someone likely to write for the category, but I would want to see how it is defined.

Thanks for your support Scott. Ideally the category would be widely defined, not narrowly. Alternatively, the powers-to-be could expand the oral category definition to include breast manipulation.

I'm not sure this warrants a separate category to be honest. If someone has a particular kink for breast play or breasts in general, that can go in "Fetish" can't it?

I can see people clamouring for a "Cocks" category if we went this route!

On the other matter, once you've earned the Omnium badge (under the qualifying conditions at the time), we've decided you should keep it. Gav has been asked to set it up this way. If it's not working, please let me / him know.
Sorry to the OP to muscle in on your thread, but fortune favours the audacious.

I don't think there is any site that has this category. For anyone who knows me, it will be obvious what I would choose.

Strange Tales are stories that, while psychologically disturbing, cannot be classified as horror stories. They usually do not have the visceral shock factor of that genre. Neither are they fantasy, nor what has become "paranormal" — you know, teenage vampires, werewolves and their ilk. But what happens in such tales might be utterly fantastic. They are stories of subtle strangeness, everyday oddities that happen in the lives of ordinary people.

The poster boy of the genre is obviously Robert Aickman, though in recent years, with his growing following, many younger authors are exploring his his themes. Authors like the ones collected in this volume

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aickmans-Heirs-Simon-Strantzas/dp/0981317790/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=9780981317793&qid=1589366494&s=books&sr=1-1

So, please can we have a Strange Sex Stories category (pretty please?)

My apologies to Meagananne as well. But Luca, what you have posted here is incredibly enticing. I don't read nearly as much as I should, but damn, I really like this concept. Go figure that.

Regarding a new category - I'm not so sure how well received it would be. How many stories would/could people write? How many would want to read them? I don't know, but dude, I like where this is going.

I've found that off-category stories can usually squeeze into other categories, with leading titles, tags, or one liners assisting the reading with the content of that story. For example, I'd love a mystery/thriller category. Like you've said, not everything fits into the horror category.

A breast category may be too specific, but a Strange Sex Stories category might catch those stories that could better fit into this proposed category. Did I just talk myself into supporting your suggestion?

Mystery/Thriller before Strange. Or both. Or none. Or something else.

I'll check out this author you've referenced. Thanks for the info.
Just my 2 cents. Breast category could encompass Erotic Lactation stories too. I just wrote one and had trouble figuring out which category to put it in. And I love a mystery or strange sex category too. And I just earned that hard-fought Prolific Writer badge and am fine with having to keep up with new categories to keep my badge.

Does this mean this will occur from this point forward or are you restoring it to authors that had earned it one or more times in the past?
There isn't a bad sex category is there?

Like for stories about ED, no orgasm, dry chaffing, BO killing the mood, first time lasting 30 seconds, intimate burn from stubble, or when she calls her ex's name?

(I would have suggested Steampunk, but it's already there)
Most Lush moderators will accept tips (read: bribes).

That's a pretty good one.

Another one, which was proposed on another site, is Relationships, perhaps. It's for stories that don't fit either Love Stories (here) or Romance (over there). It would be when the emotional side goes awry, and there is no happily ever after.

I'd never heard of Robert Aickman, though he sounds like a remarkable writer, and right up my alley (heh). I will read him.

And yes, Strange Sex Stories is a great idea for a category. It'd get me writing (and reading) again.

Would Ping's latest comp story qualify as "Strange Sex"? Genuine question - I don't really understand the proposed category.
When did the strap-on sex category get added?
I only noticed it after I'd posted a story in Toys.
Isn't strap on part of the Toys section anyway?

Just last night.

Some strap-on stories would have formerly gone in Toys, and some might have been in Femdom, or possibly other categories (Lesbian, for example).

It was felt that there was enough in "Strap-On Sex" to make it a category in its own right. Very popular pornography genre.

I think anything Ping writes qualifies as strange. In a GOOD way, of course. smile

I'd define Strange Sex as strange but NOT fitting into an existing specific category (e.g. tentacles). Kind of a catch-all category. Like, a story about a Wendigo, an Native American mythological critter who is insatiably hungry, would be strange sex.

Would a wendigo not be supernatural, in the same way a banshee might be?

Yeah. Hadn't realized it was a category. I guess anything horror or supernatural is already covered.

Maybe something psychedelic, or non-linear? Dada-ist porn? I just like the idea of Strange as a category, I haven't thought it out too much.
